Following his diagnosis from Mr Evans, Danny consults further specialists regarding his knee but they all agree with Mr Evans' assessment. He is determined not to give up, and gets a more hopeful response from a consultant he finds on the internet. At the training ground, a sophisticated looking woman catches the eye of Miguel, and approaching her, learns she is waiting for Sean. Assuming she is Sean’s lover, Miguel jumps right on in with an attempt to snare the woman away, and offers a ride to the house he shares with Sean. The latest consultant tells Sully he can perform an operation on his knee, which would see him play again in up to three months, adding the quickest time scale for the surgery would be at his practice in the States - for ten thousand pounds. Amy is worried when she learns of this new consultant, as without Sully’s insurance from the club he could end up being left with nothing. He won't listen however, and is desperate to get out there as soon as tomorrow. Sean arrives home to find Miguel romancing the mystery woman. Miguel tells him he is getting acquainted with his girlfriend, and Sean stubbornly informs him she isn’t his girlfriend - but his mother! The look on Michelle's face backs this up, and Miguel exits as fast as he can.

Michelle reveals her visit is down to the £150K Sean promised to help her set up her own salon, and she needs it now as another offer has been made for the business. Sean can't let his mother down and decides he'll have to approach Tony, who at first refuses to help Sean, but when he learns Michelle is in Harchester, he changes his tune and agrees to cough up half of the money. Michelle enjoys making Miguel putty in her hands, informing him she is a trained masseuse, stating he already knows she won't take no for an answer. Amy has to turn to Kim for help that Sully stands to lose everything if this goes wrong, and she will suffer when he can't pay the money for the kids. Michelle is in the process of finishing up when Sean walks in! Sully calls round to Kim's, and she gets onto the subject of what she heard from Amy earlier. The conversation just resorts to the usual trading of insults between them, and in the heat of the moment Kim reveals that Amy came to see her behind his back. An almost-crazed Danny confronts Amy at the flat, accusing her of being like Kim and just out for more of his money, before pushing her backwards onto the sofa. Amy cries as Sully sneers that he should have ended things with her when he went to Southend, and yells it's over.

Sully ends up getting into a fight at Studs, and is taken in by the police. The police station wakes Tony up in bed, and he tells them to keep Danny there until he has sobered up - stopping him from flying to America. When Tony goes in to see Sully. Danny tells him he doesn't have to be concerned anymore as he is no longer his agent. Michelle has that motherly instinct to clean up after her son, and is soon vacuuming the boys’ house. Tidying things up, she finds the sports bag under Miguel’s bed and is stunned when she opens it and finds stacks of notes amounting to thousands of pounds. When she questions Sean about whether he owes money to Miguel, it leaves him confused as to why she'd mention Miguel in this. Michelle tells Sean about the discovery, and he immediately goes to lynch Miguel for storing away the money he was supposed to give J.F. Sean holds Miguel responsible for J.F’s death, stating if he hadn’t stole all their money, the meeting with J.F wouldn't have happened and he never would have died. Jimmy is called to the physio room to find a drugged up Danny demanding his personal records from Shakey. When Sully snatches the files away, Jimmy warns him if he leaves he will have no choice but to fire him meaning he would get no insurance. Outside, Danny collapses onto the car park ground.

In hospital, Sully is told an infection has formed behind his knee which is causing his fever. Kim, Liam and Gavin all visit Danny, but he is uncooperative to them all, even rejecting the chance of Gavin passing on a message to Amy. Miguel hands Sean his £100K from the J.F-kitty, which he in turn presents to Michelle. Michelle tells Sean she is very disappointed in him, after everything she went through while he was growing up to give him a chance in football. Michelle shows her money to Jimmy, adding there was hundreds of thousands more in cash. Miguel and Sean's recent behaviour now makes more sense to Jimmy. As Danny is discharged from hospital, Amy takes him to the club where she reads Jimmy the statement that will be delivered to the press, on Sully being forced to retire due to his knee injury. Jimmy goes to speak with a subdued Danny in the Players' Lounge, where he says he wants to help him and believes he will be a great coach, obtaining his badges at the club. As Sean takes the Dragons 1-up against Arsenal, Amy thinks everything will be all right now Jimmy has said he will look after Danny's future - only doesn't catch her boyfriend glaring menacingly at Jimmy's face on the TV screen.

Notes:

Best Known For: Christine Adams came to prominence on shows "NY-LON" (2004) and "Home Again" (2006) before taking her career stateside, where she appeared in "Batman Begins" (2005), and has made many cameos in hit shows including "Pushing Daisies" (2007 & 09), "Lie to Me", "Heroes" (both 2009), "CSI: Miami" and "Nip/Tuck" (both 2010) and "Castle" (2015) amongst others. And larger roles in series "Terra Nova" (2011), "The Whole Truth" (2010-12), "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" (2014-15), "Feed The Beast" (2016), "Castlevania" (2021), "Ordinary Joe" (2021-22), "Hijack" (2023) and the long running of role Lynn Stewart/Pierce in "Black Lightning" (2018-21)

The Best: The revelation of Michelle as Sean’s mother. Must have been a Stuart/Ryan situation. The whole dressing room winding Sean up about his mom and her flirting with Miguel. Jimmy interviewed by Sky Sports on the club being in the running for the title, as a fight breaks out involving Sean, Miguel and the whole team which is caught by the cameras.

Quotes: Danny (snarls to Kim): "...is this what you and Kramer talk about is it, when you're in bed? ...Just stick to being a bitch would you Kim, cause that's what you're good at!" which she retaliates with: "Well at least Steve doesn't have to crawl around doing my dirty work for me, not like that slapper you ended up with!".  Tyson’s impression of Michelle coming onto Miguel, especially for Sean: (sultry tone) “Miguel… [tosses dreads back] How would you like some crumpets?!”

Foreshadowing: Sully now holding Jimmy responsible for the end of his career, and the beginning of his emergence as ‘Dragonslayer’ from the next episode.

Additional Info: It is hinted that Tony and Michelle go way back. Maybe an unaired Season 11 story would have been Tony being revealed as Sean’s father?

Continuity: Jimmy telling Miguel and Sean that for the “first time in twenty years” the club has something good to give, referring to the 1986 title win [DT80’s #3] but overlooking the 1999 and 2006 FA Cup wins.

Aside from regaining Premiership status and witnessing his friends die following the match (8.32 Play Off) and captaining the side which won the FA Cup (9.31 Salt Of The Earth), some questionable continuity in Amy’s press statement on Danny, which states he has been at the club for 10 years though not seen until 5.1 Passports Out and later retconned into a December 2000 set scene in 9.11 War of the Roses.

Surprise!: The moment we’d been waiting for, coming next episode: “Dear oh dear…!”

Soundtrack: Bloc Party: “Pioneers”,  Coldplay: “Amsterdam”,  Girls Aloud: “Love Machine”
