GS: Karl Fletcher (Terry Kiely)  Tony Franks (Neal Barry)  Terry Harrison (Tony Selby)

Jason views the Harchester.net forum and comes across an unwelcome new post from Dragonslayer, regarding him. Jason is mortified to see a recording of the Jimmy incident uploaded for the whole world to see, and is even more freaked out when Fletch pops up in the video! Digitalised Fletch continues to taunt Jason about J.F's death – calling him a killer. Jason feels Jimmy's wrath again, where this time he is actually accused of being Dragonslayer with Tony having filmed the footage. Things come to a head when Terry arrives and tells Jimmy it feels like Dragonslayer is in control, rather than he as manager. Jimmy says six months ago he wouldn't have thought Jason could do this, but now he's not so sure. Jimmy comes home to find Gemma all packed and ready to return to her mother's. She tells Jimmy she now understands why her mom left him for another man, for she could accept if he’d had an affair, but choosing football hurts more, which she now understands herself.

Worried for his future, Jason goes onto Harchester.net's forum and posts a long message defending himself, and asking the fans for their forgiveness as he, too, was one of them not so long ago. Dragonslayer Danny opens a special package he has received. Amongst the gadgets inside his new 'Spy KT', is a pen with a hidden camera inside. As Jimmy now accuses Tony of being behind it all, he bans him from the club until the end of the season, unaware that Sully’s spy pen has captured the whole incident by simply sitting on the desk. By nightfall, it is added to Dragonslayer's post count. The next day Sully is all set to continue his spying escapades, this time at the training ground, but is stopped in his tracks when he sees Jimmy has hired a team of security specialists to search all of the staff for spy ware. Danny slips the pen into Jimmy's jacket which goes through without being searched, before making a point in front of Jimmy that he doesn't mind being searched. When the coast is clear, Danny takes the pen and hides it in a plant inside Jimmy's office.

Jason sees the police have arrived, and Fletch is on hand to tease him about it being for J.F. It turns out to be over the recording of he and Jimmy, and the detective tells them no actual criminal offence was committed so it's not down to them. Jimmy admits to Jason he is worried about him, and not seeing Fletch thinks he witnessed Jason talking to himself. He tells Jason he can't select him for tomorrow's match and sends him home to sort his head out. After more mind-games courtesy of Sully. Gavin, Miguel and Sean decide to approach Jimmy with their concerns on how this 'back to basics' routine is having a negative effect on the team. Jimmy is not impressed at being offered advice by his players and throws the three out, once again the incident being caught by Sully's spy pen. At the team dinner, Jimmy drops Gavin, Miguel and Sean for tomorrow's game, as punishment for the meeting making it onto the net. Jason has gone AWOL, and Jimmy asks Katy to pass on that he wants him to play.

Jason sits alone in town drinking (except for Fletch for company that is) and makes the decision to head to the police station. He is about to go in when Katy finds him. She tells him he's playing tomorrow, and thinks Jason's recent troubles are down to the wedding coming up, and suggests postponing. Jason wants to tell all to Katy but still cannot find himself to do so, so concentrates on being ready for the Villa game. Terry is not happy about Jimmy dropping three strong players, and when he still refuses to change his team sheet, Terry warns him he better be lucky today otherwise this game will be his last. The team go out with Jimmy's words of how no matter what is thrown at them, on the pitch they stay strong. Half time comes and the Dragons are 1-0 down, with Manchester United drawing with City at Old Trafford. Things need to improve if Harchester are to keep their title dream alive. Jimmy asks Jason if he can continue, because otherwise he will take him off. Fletch is back to pressure Jason into quitting, but Porter stands up and states he can do this. It pays off as Jason’s input in the second half leads to Tyson equalising for the Dragons, and they keep their title hopes alive for another day.

Notes:

Last appearance of Terry Harrison (Tony Selby), though he is still chairman when the season ends.

Sapphire Elia is back as Gemma for the final episode in 10.32 The Final Whistle Part Two.

Continuity: A post on Harchester.net at the beginning of the ep reads “Eugene Rose – the latest news”, which suggests he could be playing in Australia, or been up to some Gene-type behaviour Down Under with maybe Chloe back in her home country coming to his rescue as always?

When Fletch appears to Jason on the training pitch, he is wearing the 2004-05 Season 8 tracksuit of the time of his death, rather than the present season, or even of his 1999 FA Cup winning season which he has been wearing since his “resurrection”. See 10.32 for more.

Additional Info: By his own admission, Tony represents half of the Harchester team. Jimmy’s banning of him here might go to explaining why Tony is not seen beyond the following episode to the series’ end.

What Was The Score?: A long distance kick from Jason in the second half leads to a goal from Tyson, and the game finishes on a 1-1 draw, following Villa’s Agbonlahor.

Soundtrack: Hard Fi: "Hard to Beat",  Massive Attack: "What Your Soul Sings",  Starsailor: "This Time",  [FOUR from The Fray]: "Dead Wrong",  "Fall Away",  "Over my Head", and "Vienna",  The Magic Numbers: "This is a Song"
