Jason visits his dad

Wait…

Disappointing a ghost. That's low

We'll regret this later (but not right now)

GS: Karl Fletcher (Terry Kiely)  Phil (Dominic Doughty)  Deano (Aston Kelly)  Tony Franks (Neal Barry)  Emma Collison (Anya Lahiri)

Jason is in a good mood after yesterday's goal, which seemingly has secured his new contract. He then sees a news report on how the investigation into J.F's death has been ruled accidental. He is shocked to learn the others found out last night. It’s Jason’s Stag Night tonight, and he notices Fletch doesn't seem to be hassling him anymore. Miguel wants Emma gone, and hands her a cheque for ten thousand pounds. She is hurt, but he only ever saw her as a business arrangement which has now come to an end. The girls go to collect Emma to complete the line-up for Katy’s Hen Party, and learn that Miguel has dumped her, with unsuspecting Katy the one to invite Emma to stay at hers until the wedding! The girls try to have fun while Emma broods away over Miguel, and announces all men, including Jason, cheat. Jason’s night gets better when two ‘policewomen’ reveal they haven't come to arrest him but give him a striptease! Emma continues in her crusade to convince the other girls that not one man can stay faithful, announcing they will go to Studs to prove it to them.

Jason is worried what Emma will do now Miguel has dumped her, as he is no longer needed as an alibi. Emma makes Cindi watch as she makes a play for Gavin, only for her to be knocked back. Emma announces it's no big deal as she's already had others in the team, declaring that aside from Miguel and Sean (which is news to us viewers!), she's also had Jason! The room is stunned into silence, until Katy emerges from the ladies having missed the whole thing. Jason persuades Phil and Deano not to say anything to Katy as it would break her heart. In the night, Jason sees Fletch in the bathroom mirror, and fears his deceit has brought him back. As Jason and Katy prepare themselves for the big day ahead, knowing her secret is out, Emma tells Katy she feels too embarrassed to attend the wedding “due to Miguel”, but Katy insists she wants her there as she has done nothing wrong! The crowd gathers inside the church, where Emma arrives before Katy, and is nearly driven out of the church by the glaring and whispering. Jason is late when he goes to visit his dad's grave, and admits he doesn't know what to do having messed up again.

Jason arrives, and soon Katy is on her way down the aisle. With the objections out of the way, the minister is all set to announce Jason and Katy as husband and wife, only Jason stops him before he can make that proclaiment. Jason tells Katy she shouldn't be marrying him, and crushes her with the revelation that he slept with someone else. Katy yells at him to tell her who it was, and Emma can take no more, running out of the church and Katy has her answer. She then reads Cindi's face and realises everyone sitting in front of her knew. A humiliated Katy slaps Jason before running out, devastated. In the aftermath, Tony tries to get through to Jase, saying the reporter from Divulge magazine has had an offer from one of the nationals for the story, but Jason doesn't care having just lost the woman he loves. Jimmy is on his way to the church and spots Katy, running down the street with her dress like an overflowing ball of candy-floss. He takes her back to the house where she says she never wants to see Jason again, adding she now has nowhere to stay as it’s his house. Jimmy invites her to stay at his until she finds her feet again.

Phil and Deano reminisce about when they first met Jason at five-a-side, and how they promised they'd always meet up to play, which Jason says they should do now. Katy meanwhile wonders whether this was bound to happen sooner or later, as Jason's new world would change him and he would swap her for a real WAG. After a few games in their old playground, Phil and Deano tell Jason it might be time he went and spoke to Katy. When Jimmy suggests she forgive Jason, Katy reminds him he couldn’t do that for Rachel, as she was there when Jimmy found out about her boyfriend. Jimmy admits that he was as much to blame, for putting his work before his family, and now he’s done the same again with Gemma. As Jason sits home alone, Fletch returns to him, and tells Jason he wanted him to marry Katy and prove him wrong, prove that he was worth it after all. Fletch adds not only has Jason lost Katy but has also blown the chance of making his father proud. Jason then smashes the glass of the framed Fletch shirt hanging on the wall, to make him go away. Jimmy admits he feels as though he deserves to be alone, to which Katy tells him that's not true and goes to kiss him. He backs away, saying this is wrong, but Katy doesn't think so and tries again. Soon Jimmy and Katy are in a full-on embrace as Jason sits in despair next door.

Notes:

The Best: Amy Perfect in an episode where she is just perfect. The star of the episode.

Continuity: Emma asking the girls whether any of them ever seduced a man they shouldn't have - to which Amy and Cindi remain quiet. Cindi also makes reference to her sleeping with Ryan, adding she hopes Katy would forgive Jason, like Gavin forgave her (9.10 ‘Tis The Season To Be Jolly). And a fantastic mention of Abi from Fletch.

Additional Info: Jason’s dad’s gravestone reads David Anthony Porter 1958-2000. Jason and Katy’s full names are given at the alter as Jason Christopher Porter and Katherine Louise Irwin.
