DT Cameos>> Melinda Messenger Model and TV presenter Melinda is an old friend of Harchester United chairman Michael Jacobs. In the 1997-98 season he recruits her for a number of promotional projects around the club, and is surprised when she pays him a visit in his office wearing the new Dragon mascot costume. Michael remarks what a talented girl Melinda is, almost as if he would prefer her as a daughter to his real one Georgina, whom he'd never say that too! Later that season Melinda fronts the Harchester United Spring Into Summer Collection fashion show, involving some of the most prominent models of the time and an expectant press. Sean Hocknell wanting to chat up the models wanders backstage and asks Melinda if he can get involved, to which she says she has just the outfit for him! Sean isn't sure when he learns he is to dance about in the Dragon mascot costume, but with reassurance from Melinda and Catalina Guirado, plus a kiss from Emma Steadman, he soon changes his mind. Georgina also takes part in the show, becoming dizzy with the lights and camera flashes due to her early pregnancy and falls over. Melinda looks after Georgina following her collapse.
