DT Cameos>> Neville Southall When Viv Wright is going through a mental crisis, Stuart Naysmith drops him for the upcoming Arsenal game, replacing him with second-choice keeper Alex Lawler. When Viv injures Alex, Stuart is left with no option but to put Viv back in goal, but when Viv realises wife Chelsea is leaving him, he abandons the team without a keeper as they are about to go out. The team finds Viv's actions unforgivable, and Stuart tasks Tash with searching for a new goalkeeper, which she comes back with long time Everton and Wales international Neville Southall. The FA are prepared to allow Harchester a new keeper only if they can prove through medical reports that Viv is unfit to play, which Stuart does without telling him about approaching Southall. Neville is introduced to the lads, but when Viv unexpectedly walks into the dressing room and sees his replacement, Neville gets uncomfortable when Viv reacts badly, and declines coming to the club.
