Team Players>> Jimmy Russell
(#16) Midfielder (1989-1998) / (#6) (1998-2000) Having signed from Millwall in the pre-season of 1989-90, Jimmy Russell was one of the older journeymen of Harchester United by 1997-98, with his distinguishable grey hair and notably plagued with injuries. His experience and cool head sees Ian Coates retain Jimmy as captain in 1998-99, and he memorably steps in in goal when regular Paul Hodson is sent off during their Boxing Day clash with Charlton Athletic at The Valley. This is followed by Jimmy scoring his first goal of the season, in a 4-0 win for Harchester at the FA Cup Fourth Round against West Ham. At the Quarter Final Replay against |
