It's the day of the Chelsea game, and a restless-looking Billy approaches Jerry telling him he doesn't feel he can play today. Jerry puts the game's TV rights before Billy's emotional state and snaps Billy is under contract and if he doesn't play he will be in breach. Michael stands before a crowd of press and grudgingly reads out a statement that it is the team's wishes to play today in memory of the four dead players. Luis asks Billy to play deeper than normal today, as a wing-back. Billy is apprehensive, and Luis knows it was Leon's position, but knows there is no better player than Billy to do this today.

When Billy struggles in training, he yells at Luis that he is not a defender and he's not Leon. Billy reveals to the lads that Jerry told him if he doesn't play today he will be sacking him for breach of contract, and the lads are adamant he can't do that. Jerry witnesses the team stage a walk out over Billy's treatment, and guides Wes and Mark away from the scene. Luis goes after Jerry and says this is the result of what he said to Billy. Jerry retorts that he will sue all of the lads for all the TV rights and every ticket not sold if they don't play.

As the fans pour in, Jerry goes to the tunnel to hear from Luis that the team have locked the door inside and are refusing to play. He is furious and bangs on the door. Inside, the team are at odds, and Michael believes he has lost credibility as he told the media the team would be playing. With the boys at each other's throats, Scott takes control, and says they should play today not for Jerry or the TV rights people, but for Gary, Viktor, Leon and Sean. It ends on Billy's say-so as to whether the team plays.

It goes ahead, and Luis gives his team talk that this could be the most difficult game the boys will ever play, as it will be for him, but to know they have their four team mates with them. Billy causes a smile when he says Leon used to call Chelsea a bunch of ponces, and the team get revved up to go out. Clare is at the gate of floral tributes with Clayton. Kelly is sitting in the park weeping and remembering being with Julie at the FA Cup Final day at Wembley. Clare goes into reception and introduces Clayton as Leon's son. Kelly arrives back in time for the second half to be told by Zena how Clare is here.

Clare cries to Kelly about even though she and Leon were too young when they had Clay, she wouldn't have it any other way, and he was a good bloke. Harchester are 2-nil down, but with passion burning inside him, Billy makes a great run and scores. The final whistle goes and although they lost, Harchester put up an admirable challenge. Wes comes into the dressing room and tells the lads there is no other team in England he'd rather play for. Billy hugs Clare and she tells him it's important that Clay knows the man his father was, and has decided to have him christened. She wanted to know if Billy would accept being Clayton's Godfather. Billy picks up Clay and says he is going to play football with his Godson, to Clare and Kelly's delight.

Notes:

The Best: Scott’s speech, and how the game today is the last memory of the boys they lost, and it has to be the right one. Mark giving Wes the exclusive he's just picked up from Ian Ridley(!) how Luis “wasn't with a tart” when he didn't get on the plane, he was with Johnny Rizzanella, and is leaving Harchester. Billy taking Clay out to the Dragon's Lair pitch for a kick-about to Oasis’s “Stand By Me”.

·          Quotes: When Luis asks what kind of man Jerry is, he replies "What gave you the right to put my boys in Biloo's flying coffin?!" and yells to get back to his team and try not to kill anymore!

Foreshadowing: The Dragon’s Lair’s first ever minute’s silence. And there will be many!

·          Continuity: Luis tells the lads while they don't normally train on a match day, they have promoted youth team players in Marvin Walker and Ian Hilaire to gel with.

Additional Info: Wes introduces Mark to Michael, who came to see him at the Carlisle game a couple of weeks ago. Jerry’s guided tour of the Lair to Wes and Mark includes the corporate boxes, which Johnny Vaughan has one.

·          What Was The Score?: The teams go in 0-0 at half time with Chelsea dominating the game. Petrescu scores, followed by a goal from Zola. Billy strikes back, and the game finishes 2-1.

Soundtrack: Primal Scream: "Cry Myself Blind",  Oasis: "Stand By Me",  Smashing Pumpkins: "Mellon Collie & the Infinite Sadness",  Elastica: "Connection"
