Harchester are preparing for their first ever Champions League tournament. A new manager has been appointed in Alan Rothman, bringing with him assistant David Spears. And there’s a new captain in Stevie Shaw. The team board the coach to fly out to face Real Mallorca, and Dawn Spears seems eager to join Rothman, before kissing her husband good luck! The coach is about to pull away when it is stopped by the police, and Detective Burrows boards, to inform Karl Roderick Walter Fletcher he is under arrest for the murder of Prashant Dattani. Rothman sends Spears ahead with the team while he stays to try and retrieve Fletch.

In Mallorca already, Lynda Block is shocked to be tracked down at Jeff Stein's villa by none other than Richard Keys, who requests her company on a “friend’s” boat for drinks. Lynda states she is on permanent holiday and wants to put Harchester behind her, but Richard won't give up. Lynda joins Richard on the boat where she finds it belongs to Harchester's new owner Sam Irving, who persuades her to stay, promising not to talk about the club. Monday arrives back from international duty having taken a knock, and is confused as to Siobhan’s whereabouts. Fletch is interrogated over when he last saw Prash alive. Dolph the physio examines Monday's foot, believing he could have chipped a bone.

Monday and Tash return to his house where they find a letter waiting for him, which Monday asks Tash to read first. He knows it says Siobhan has left him. Sam asks Lynda to join him tomorrow at the game, and she asks why he's interested in her so much? He tells her it was her ex-husband who nearly bankrupted the club while Harchester wouldn't be on this island right now if it wasn't for her, and he wants to bring her some happiness after everything she's been through. Lynda leaves, throwing her ticket into the water as she does. Fletch's lawyer, James Carson-Brandt arrives, and Fletch is presented with his #11 tracksuit bottoms where traces of Dattani's blood have been found.

David phones Dawn from Mallorca, unaware that Alan is lying in bed next to her! Alan has no time for Monday's jetlag and foot injury, only interested in whether he could play, and Tash puts him straight. All Alan can respond with is she should do some shopping and leave the business to daddy! Monday asks Tash what she knows about Siobhan, and Tash tells him she was lonely while he was away and missing her family. Monday believes he could have learned to love Siobhan, but Tash reminds him it was a wedding cooked up to get him a work permit.

Danny is in panic mode over both Fletch and Monday not being available for the game, and Jamie's patience is tested so he joins Stevie and Andrei at their card game. Peggsy sees them getting underway, and not wanting to grass Jamie up to Andy tells probably Jamie's biggest gambling nightmare Danny! Danny marches to the game and warns Jamie he is not going to leave his sight to make sure he doesn't bet. Sam tells Lynda he wants her to take the position of Chief Executive at the club. In front of Justice Lawson, James pleads for Fletch's inclusion in tonight's game. With a one-million-pound security bond, Fletch is granted bail and he and Alan rush to the airport for Mallorca.

Monday is watching the game with Tash at her house, when Dawn arrives with all the other wives. She tells Monday she is looking forward to meeting Siobhan and Monday wants to leave, but Tash reminds him he owes her not to leave her with Dawn! Fletch has been disappointing with all that's playing on his mind outside the game, and Alan takes him off, which he reacts badly to. Harchester go one-up and watching the Son Moix celebrations, Tash and Monday are shocked to see Lynda sitting with Sam. While the game is still going, Fletch takes his passport and escapes the dressing room unseen by Peggsy. The final whistle goes, and as the team celebrates in the Away dressing room, Peggsy has to inform Rothman that Fletch has gone.
