Jamie, Lynda Barney Tash, Monday Claudia |
GS: James Carson-Brandt (Andrew Hall) Barney (Tim Vincent) Police Officer (Paul Tyreman) Jeff Stelling (as himself) George Best (as himself) Rodney Marsh (as himself) Frank McLintock (as himself) Alan McInally (as himself) Lynda arrives at the club to find a car sitting abandoned, and asks Claudia to locate the owner with its registration. At the same time, Monday is reporting the break-in at his house, with Andrei adamant it couldn't be Victoria who has vanished leaving the bag containing the cash empty. Tash tells Fletch Jamie didn't come home last night, and at the club Lynda discovers the car is his and has been found hiding in the canteen. Left with little choice but to reveal all to Lynda on previous events regarding Victoria, Lynda tells Jamie he must tell Tash himself, because if she hears it from the police she definitely will leave him. Lynda asks Claudia to advertise a position which interests her, a marketing manager role. When the police question Fletch over Victoria's whereabouts, Carson-Brandt tells him of a deal the prosecution is offering: he pleads guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter and will get eight years, serving five. Fletch won't do it as he is innocent, but James tells him his answers aren't good enough and could see him getting fifteen years. Lynda puts it to Fletch that Victoria cannot reveal the bribery without giving up the one-hundred grand, so thinks they should just keep quiet and hope she doesn’t resurface. Lynda reluctantly allows Claudia to put forward some ideas for the marketing manager job, and she calls up an old photographer friend Barney. David is rattled when he sees Claudia leaving the club looking cosy with Barney. Jamie can take no more in his fear of losing Tash, and admits all to her unsure as to whether he really did sleep with Victoria at the clinic, and gambling away thirty grand whilst she was in Ireland. Not to mention how she is on tape unwittingly bribing Victoria. Barney and Claudia set up a photoshoot where she poses in just a pair of Harchester shorts while two footballs cover her cleavage. Barney asks surely her cover will be blown as Sam Irving's daughter when the pics get out, but Claudia believes her role as Harchester's marketing manager will be secured by then. Jamie goes to stay with Monday, and Tash packs all of his things and dumps them in the middle of the Lair car park before pouring petrol over the pile. An anguished Jamie with the lads can only watch as an emotional Tash threatens to light the mound. Monday manages to talk her out of it, and takes her home, prepared to miss the Aston Villa game to look after Tash. Claudia watches as Sky Sports begins to report her PR campaign reaching the grounds around the country. Needless to say Sam is furious and demands Lynda bring Claudia in right away, even though Lynda doesn't think the shots are that bad! Sam tells Claudia he has a good mind to send her back to Australia for her showing him up. Tash tells Monday she doesn't want to be alone and would he look after her, before Monday tells her that he loves her, and they kiss.
