The Dark Side

Fletch hits gold when he finds Patrick and Jacqui in a clinch, immediately demanding a new and better contract. Meanwhile, the pressure of the trial pushes Ryan over the edge.

It's Birmingham City Reserves against Harchester United Reserves and Ryan is getting himself in even more trouble. He is brought down from a rash tackle but turns around hitting the Birmingham City player in the face. He is automatically sent off.

After the game is finished, the team are calling Ryan a disgrace and a liability. Fletch tells the rest of the team that soon Ryan's court case is coming up, so he'll be out their hair. Ryan runs out the changing rooms crying.

Fletch gets on the coach, but is told they cannot go as Ryan is yet to get on board. Ryan meanwhile is back in the changing rooms. In rage he smashes the mirror with his fist. He is found by Fletch and Andy Ansah, blood everywhere.

It's the 4th round FA Cup tie, and
Blackburn and Harchester are drawing 0-0. Back in Birmingham, Fletch is really gutted for Ryan. Back in Harchester, in the closing minutes of the Blackburn game, Stuart Naysmith does a splendid run, scoring a brilliant goal. Harchester win the match 1-0.

Fletch walks in on the team celebrating to tell Stuart the bad news. He explains that Ryan had slit his wrists.

Up in the players lounge, Jacqui is complimenting Patrick while Tash is obviously jealous of Jamie and his new American girlfriend. Patrick decides to make an announcement, thanking every person working at Harchester for yet another great win. Jacqui plans a night in with Patrick, turning Phil and his clubbing down.

Fletcher is reminiscing on the pitch of many of his previous goals. He feels this is his end, finding himself in debt and playing for the reserves, the future doesn't look bright.

Back upstairs in the players lounge, Patrick is asked by Jamie and Phil to join the boys clubbing. He turns them down, knowing he has a night planned with Jacqui but then decides to go, not telling Jacqui.

Abi finds Fletch on the pitch and tries to console him. He tells her how Ryan had just tried to kill himself and how he found him on the floor covered in blood. He also explains how he blames himself for giving him a hard time. He then reminds Abi that he doesn't have any money and he is getting shafted by his own club. Abi tells him that they are still together and Fletch explains that she is the only thing holding him together.

Stuart is down at the hospital and is told by Andy that he is in a bad way. He is later told he has become stable and is now alright.

Back at The Grange, Jacqui has dressed herself up and is waiting for Patrick to arrive, but he doesn't seem to come.

Meanwhile, Tash still seems to just be talking about Jamie and Shannon. Robbie is getting fed up and explains how he doesn't want to hear about them anymore. He tells Tash that he has to leave for
Brighton, and cannot stay overnight as the rush hour traffic is terrible. He asks her to move down to Brighton with him but she wriggles her way out of it explaining how she cannot leave the house incase Jamie changes the locks and how she has to get the divorce settlements sorted. Finally, Robbie decides to stay the night.

It's morning and Stuart awakes next to Ryan who is still asleep. At The Barons, Phil is telling Jacqui how great the night was. He mentions how even Patrick was getting into the swing of things. When she hears this she realizes where he was. Phil tells her how he also has an eye for ladies. Over the way, Fletch is ringing banks trying to get enough money to pay back what he owes. He is told he can only borrow half of what he owes. Abi persuades Fletch that he must go over to the club and ask for the other half off Patrick.

Tash is settling for the divorce, explaining to a lawyer how the marriage has broken down. She explains how it was brilliant when they first got married but when she became pregnant things became hard and Jamie just wasn't there for her.

At the club, Jacqui is not happy. She storms in to see Patrick and asks where the hell he was last night. She tells him that she will not be treated how she is being, she is so furious she says that'll she tell Phil everything, and get it over with, just to see Patrick's smug smile wiped off his face.

Fletch has gone to the club to find Patrick, meanwhile, Abi has gone to visit Ryan at the hospital. Tash has arrived home from the divorce settlers and Jamie is at home. She does not tell him where she has been. She tells Jamie how the car is playing up and he explains that that is the reason he has waited to meet her. He explains that she can pick a new car to buy. Fletch is speaking to Patrick about borrowing money off the club. Patrick tells him that he may have a word with the Chairman, but he explains that he'll probably have more luck at the dog track than he will with Phil Wallis.

Back at The Barons, Tash is having second thoughts on the divorce letter wondering if she has been to harsh. The car Tash picked soon arrives and she is very excited. When she realizes that the car is for
Shannon she is furious and tells Jamie to get lost.

Jacqui is still in a bad mood at the club. Patrick goes to see her and explains how he is sorry, he says he will make it up to her and for her to meet him in his office soon. Nikki and Sandra are gossiping about Ryan at the same time and
Tara overhears. When she realizes Ryan tried to kill himself she is physically sick. She is found in the toilets crying and Nikki tells her how Ryan is like, Tara is told not to blame herself.

Stuart is still by Ryan's side and he begins to awake. Ryan explains how
Tara is the one who was driving the car.

Fletch is back at home and he is upset how he cannot get the money. He tells Abi that he is going to see Patrick again and this time the gaffa' cannot take no for an answer.

Stuart goes after
Tara to try and find her. He tells her that she is a cold person for what she is doing, Tara doesn't respond though and explains how she is leaving.

Back at The Lair, Patrick is in his office, pouring champagne. Jacqui arrives and they start kissing, Fletch at the same time is going up the stairs towards the office, knocking and opening the door he finds Jacqui on top of Patrick. He cannot believe his luck. Patrick goes after him but Fletch has driven off back home. Meanwhile
Tara is leaving for good to get away from everything.

Stuart has once again found
Tara, at the place of the hit and run. She explains how the whole thing was her. She explains how she did try to tell the truth at the beginning but the police wouldn't believe her so she eventually said what the police wanted her to.

Fletch has arrived home and he cannot hide his excitement. He tells Abi how he cannot believe what he has just seen. As this happens there is a knock on the door. Patrick arrives. He explains how he just wants a quick word with Fletcher. He explains how it isn't what it looks like but Fletch shuts him up. Karl explains how he wants a new contract at a good price at the end of the season and his secret is safe.

Patrick goes to see Phil, but Phil is not backing down on the contract. He leaves, without persuading Mr. Wallis. Patrick rings Fletch though, explaining how the contract is ready for him at the end of the week. Abi tells Fletch though not to just take Patrick's word for it. He decides to go round to Phil's house to speak to him about it. He finds out that Patrick was lying, he tells Jacqui that she has one hour to sort this out or he'll tell Phil about the whole affair.

Stuart has brought
Tara along to Ryan's hospital bed. Tara explains that she is going to the police to admit what really happened, that she was driving.

Patrick tells Fletch that they need to talk so he calls him up and tells him to meet him in his office. Patrick explains how he can solve all of Karl's problems in one go. He tells Fletch that he has a bet that Harchester will be relegated at the end of the season, meaning he will win 2 million pounds. He promises to give some of it to Karl.
