Fletch confides in Marcel about Patrick, and when Abi adds she saw he and Jacqui together, Marcel says they have to convince her to admit all to Phil. When Patrick questions him, Marcel covers that Barcelona have been in touch about going on loan, with a permanent move in the summer. After Fletch pleads with her to tell Phil, Jacqui goes to Patrick in despair about how the lies and deceit is taking it’s toll, getting more worked up until Patrick hits her! As the team trains, Fletch puts on a bin-liner and cycles in an attempt to sweat the cocaine out. Patrick makes a call and learns Barcelona haven't made any enquiries about Marcel.

Jacqui does a feature with six-year-old Darren, the winner of the Who's Your Hero competition, who states he doesn't like the way the team are playing this season. Darren's mom tells her he gets bullied whenever Harchester lose, which is lots lately! Patrick sets up Marcel to appear alongside him in an interview for Sky Sports News, making sure Roger Clark knows about Barcelona beforehand. Marcel is shocked, and tells Patrick the fans will crucify him. Patrick warns Jacqui he doesn't know what the people he placed the bet with are capable of, and they are so close to achieving what they’ve worked for, which makes her agree to stay with him.

Phil surprises Jacqui by turning their front room into the restaurant he took her to for their first date. Jacqui feels even worse when Phil talks of his guilt at being preoccupied with the club while she was losing their baby. Marcel gets the team to commit to playing his way if the Gaffer's plan doesn't work in the first half. As the team head to St Andrews, Abi catches Jacqui leaving with a suitcase, and is told the club is going down and there's nothing they can do. Jacqui hears it is 1-0 to Birmingham at half time, and decides she must get there to support Phil.

Jeff is alarmed to witness PFA Rep Bobby Bell with the parents of Clyde and Tommo. When Jeff takes Bell aside, he is shocked to be told that the boys signed with the PFA two weeks ago. When Birmingham get a second goal, Patrick makes sure to take Marcel off, and when leaving the pitch Marcel throws his shirt at Doyle. Jeff opens up to Tash that he fears he is going bankrupt, having lost several clients and no sign of replacing them. Harchester have lost and sit in 20th place. As they sit in their car, Phil blames himself for the team's inevitable fate. Jacqui knows she must come clean, and asks Phil would he love her no matter what...
