What were your expectations of joining the cast of Dream Team and has the past year and the experience of actually being on the show lived up to them? I had no expectations at all I was petrified .. and soon after I joined I was overwhelmed by the kindness of a lot of people and the welcoming factor, I felt like I belonged there pretty quickly. Been one of my best experiences to date! :)
Would you prefer to work on a drama series or a soap? right now... I cant pick and choose...but .. dramas!!! defo!
What is your favourite characteristic and physical feature about yourself and Gemma? sapphire: erm... my eyes I think! gemma: my legs!
How would you describe your prefect day? What would you get up too? watching films for a bit...eat lots of chocolate.. go shopping ..wild night out in the evening... but now the sun is starting to come out...id say a boat ride ..roll around on the grass for a bit..pick flowers.. day dream.. shopping, then wild night out with every person in this world that I love!!
Do you often get recognised in public? I have been asked a few times yeah, and its great! I hope I never get funny about it.
Do you ever think it's amazing how long the show's gone on for? Your 19 years old and you watched Dream Team when Luis Amor Rodriguez was in the show! Is it strange to think you were watching him when you were 12 and you actually got to play a part in the same show 7 years on? very very odd indeed!! and i love it. :) Im 20 on the 15th! no more teen for me :(
Could you see yourself as a real life WAG? No way! I don't think I could hack it at all, I love being the career woman and earning my own money in my own right. (although all the shopping would be great!!)
Have you had any wild nights out with the cast, and any interesting stories to tell? no stories at all! but I'm out for my birthday next week so may have a few then but im gonna be good and not tell a soul!!! hehe.
You are currently recording an album and it sounds great so far, what are the plans for releasing it or auditioning for X Factor? thanks! glad you like. :) I auditioned for x factor once and never again! I have plans to release as soon as possible, I have my own record label (thin air records) which I hope to sell them through in the near future, its not easy, having to get a lot done but am getting there!
Do you have any pets? awww what a cute question, yes I have a toy poodle (not an actually toy, just a very small poodle) called gyzmo, and two cats jazz and woma!! I love them all.
Do you think you are similar to Gemma, in any ways? And what of your co-stars on Dream Team, do you feel any of them are similar to their on-screen counterpart? none of the others are anything like their characters. I think I can be like Gemma, I was a bit more like her about 4 years ago. Id like to think I share her good qualities now, her passion for life and love, being a few.
Before you applied for a role in Dream Team, were you a fan of the show? I hadnt watched the show since series 4 I think. the series with rodriegez?? .. he was gorge!
Your surname, it sounds Greek/Turkish, are you any of the two? I am in fact half greek cypriot! good observation :)
You seem to appreciate your fans and respond to myspace comments and things like that. Do you think it's important that fans and their idols maintain a good relationship? yes I do, the fans will ultimately be the ones to make you! if they don't like you they are less likely to pay money to see you perform. Without them I have no career. I love people who appreciate what I do and I love chatting to them. :)
How do you practise your lines? How long do you normally have before shooting the footage? And what advice would you give to people interested into going into the big world of TV industry to become an actor or actress? I learn lines very easily. I was trained to do so at stage school from a young age. I kind of read them and after a few times I know them pretty well. We never really know what scenes we have for sure until the day before! but maximum a week. Id say.. be strong, stay true to who you are no matter what because people will always try to change you and you cannot expect everyone to like you. Expect long hours, late nights.. and dont let "failed" auditions get you down, stay positive!
Have you done/do you plan to do more live theatre and if you have, what roles have you taken on? I love theatre, I was in Les miserable when I was younger and loved it!! I would love to do more, (preferably musicals though I do love plays too) mary poppins is a great show you have to see it! les mis is a great show!! I need to see more myself to be honest!
What hobbies do you have away from Dream Team and do you spend time with the cast off set? I am still in contact with a lot of the cast! song writing is my main hobby although it can be considered work! I enjoy watching films, going out for drinks with mates, shopping!
If you had to advise Gemma on some of the problems she has faced (her relationship with Liam for instance) what would you tell her? up to where you guys have watched so far..id say she needs to learn to put herself in other peoples shoes. she is very narrow minded and thinks a lot about how SHE feels and forgets she is not the only one with feelings! She needs to stop burdening others with her own small problems, at the same time she has grown up with an absent father and so seeks lots of attention from men,as she loves Liam she will do whatever she can to get his attention!
Are you a football fan off screen and what team do you support? arsenal! :) not the greatest fan, I kind just hang around while my family watch it and cheer when they score! lol.
Whats the most romantic thing you have ever done for a guy or whats the most romantic thing a guy has ever done for you? I have never done anything that romantic really.. my man is always romantic.. he makes me breakie every morning! hes written me love poems.. I cant escape his romantic nature! remember boys.. women will never tire of romance!
It's been your first (and last) Series on Dream Team. Do you wish you could have been brought into the show a few years earlier and worked with the program longer or was one year enough? I think it was about the right time in my life to be doing it, I was doing a levels before and just growing up really. It has been a great experience and came at the perfect time in my life/career.
Who is the biggest prankster on set? any funny experiences? hmm, all the guys are nutters! duncan enjoyed a good prank.. on one of the out takes.. while I was "sleeping" during a scene in ep 19 he got a knife out and pretended to stab me with it! I didnt know until he showed me on screen. lol.
If you won say £100m on the lottery what would you do with it? lots!!! split it between family... obviously give some to charity!!! whoever doesn't is just greedy! .. erm... ive never really thought about it too much.. that's a lot of money! I don't think I could handle that much... make my own career using all my own money, there will be no need for financial help with my singing career which would be great! also a little dream of mine.. have my own chocolate line...mmmmmmmm! :)
This Series there has been a fair bit of criticism about the Craig Family and how it was turning the show into a family related soap (Craig's practically having a storyline running the Series). Had you ever read any of the criticism on this site? How did it make you feel? I did some of it yeah, I think you are all right!! at points I found it may have been a bit much for a footie drama series but I think us actors made it watchable regardless and possibly added something a bit diff ! I don't get hurt by negative comments, everyone is entitled to their opinions! :)
Your probably not going to see half of the DT cast again sooo... Was there any of the actors you worked with that you couldn't stand? Were any impossible to work with no way!! they were amazing! ;) all of them...
Which do you see your future in more, music or acting? Which would you give up if you had to choose one? I can honestly never answer that one!!! I have been doing both from such a young age.. I suppose If was unable to sing (even around the house).. I might go insane, whereas acting is a choice of career rather than a "must do!"
What has been your hardest scene to film so far or a scene you would imagine been hard to film? there was a scene with me, david (sean cambell) and duncan pow that took 3 hours!! it was not even a long scene! duncan had to pull me out of the bed that I was in with david and my arm was killing me from being pulled so many times! it was a very technical scene, many angles! i was exhausted after that one! (all the coma stuff was very annoying too!)
Was there anything in Series 10 that left you frustrated? Obviously we have more of the Series to watch but were you annoyed with the lack of storylines coming your way? Was spending a large portion of episodes in a coma frustrating? yes the coma stuff was frustrating and very hard work believe it or not... I got headaches a lot and had to keep my eyes open without blinking for some of it! but i must say, it was funny to watch! my family had a good ol laugh! Considering that DT is a lot about the footie.. I am happy with the amount i have been given remember there is more to come!
What is your most embarrassing situation you have been in and don't be shy? thats a hard one there has been a few... when i was performing on a west end stage and I forgot it all!! for me that was my worst nightmare!
With the progressing story with yourself & Liam Mackay, do you feel that your character could have been featured a little more? Or is that being saved for the weeks to come? I think i have been used a good amount, any more may have been too much plus there is defo more to come! im in it again as of next week!!
What are you doing now that you have finished filming? lol.. well, I am working hard on an album at the mo which is going really well. auditioning for things nothing lined up acting wise, lets hope something comes up soon!
Was it embarrassing filming your first scenes naked in a shower? yes it was ay first... but the crew make you feel sooo comfy that you kind of forget you're evn wearing next to nothing... and they make sure everyone who doesn't need to be on set is off set.. they are great!!
Who would you say you are closest to (friend-wise) in the crew? hmm... not easy... jessica-jane... danny midwinter.. james floyd.. im close to a few in different ways I suppose!
