Barbara Finch (Janet Pate) |
1999 |
Middle-aged ball-breaker who would seem more accustomed to being a headmistress than representing World Cup winning superstar footballers. Barbara gets involved with Harchester United when her client Didier Baptiste is looking to play under his former Monaco team mate Luis Amor Rodriguez. Barbara is unimpressed with the club's initial wage offer of ten thousand pounds a week when Didier's terms would start at twenty-five, though she grudgingly agrees to the basic pay of £20K. She also has little time for Ann Patterson, who hasn't any big name clients to her PR portfolio, though thaws when Didier speaks up for her potential. After Didier has left the club, Barbara hangs on to money meant to be paid to Harchester by his new club Marseille, as she acted as an intermediary. When she stalls transferring the funds, Harchester's players cannot be paid leading to a revolt against Lynda, and Roger Frost says he will lodge a complaint about Barbara. |
