Arriving back from court, Lynda is shocked when Luis tells her the club didn't pay his bail, for Jerry apparently believes it would have a bad effect on the sponsors if the club got involved. The lads are rehearsing the Cup Final song when Sean enters the dressing room, and he is put out at the lack of a warm welcome he receives. Frank tries to make him understand it is because the team feel this has cost them Luis. Lynda asks Phillipa does Jerry’s recent behaviour indicate he thinks Luis is going to be found guilty, and is told the only way to avoid this trial would be for Mica to drop the charges.

Denise brings Clare into the canteen, explaining that she will be joining to help them cope with all the functions between now and the Cup Final. Lynda goes to Luis in the gym, and tells him Jerry has gone abroad suddenly, and she can't work out what's going on with him. Lynda tells Luis she is going to stop this - and is going to see Mica. Sean asks the lads to hear him out, that what if it had been one of their wives or girlfriends. Sean reminds them how they were at the top of the League before Luis got there and they can do it again. The lads decide to get behind Sean for the greater good of the Cup Final.

Lynda gets to Mica on how in court all her past and that of her family will be brought up, which worries Mica, especially in regard to her dad being in prison. Lynda makes her agree to talking it through with Sean. The team are at the recording studio but their ability to perform as a group is less successful than their work on the pitch! Kelly and Julie, with his permission this time, go to pick up Fletch from the studio in his new car, but in a rush to get away from Denise they drop the mobile Fletch has been looking for since he got back from Liverpool. Denise picks it up and hands it into Ian. Leon is less than pleased to find Clare working for Denise, believing Alex is muscling in on his family even more.

As the boys make yet another cock-up of the song, Kelly requests going in to join them and help with the melody. The record company Executive is pleasantly surprised as Kelly out-performs the boys! In his office, Ian goes through the messages on Fletch's phone, and comes to a voicemail from the night before the Liverpool game. Frank comes in and Ian hangs up before he can hear more. Ian announces to Frank that he wants to bring Luis back, but Frank is worried about what that will do to the Sean situation plus the Chairman's feelings.

Lynda and Luis are in bed questioning Jerry's motives on going to court and saying something about Luis which he couldn't have seen. It hits them that Jerry knows about their relationship, and they are interrupted by Coates at the door. Lynda hides while Ian tells Luis he wants him back in the team. He explains how they will get around the Sean problem by simply bringing one off for the other to go on. Mica tries to talk to Sean about dropping the case, insisting that it's her fear the press will drag up her history. Mica reminds Sean it's affecting his game too, having missed a semi-final and been out for nearly a month. Sean doesn't know if he can do what Mica wishes. Ian gets back to his room and plays the rest of the message. The whole recording reveals Luis's innocence in the Mica encounter. What will Ian do?
