GS: Trudi Peyton (Shelly Minto) Clare Farrow (Sarah Farooqui) Jeff Stelling (as himself) Clive Allen (as himself) As the team go out, Jerry corners Ian and wants an answer as to why Luis is in the team. Ian tells him the club's chances of beating Man U at Wembley are slim, and they can't rely on that as their only route into Europe, they need to take it today. Ian sits with the fans and Helen in the stands, saying he'll get a better overview of the game from up there. Ian's mobile rings on him, and Helen is suspicious, having found a phone in their room after Ian had already left for the club. Ian spins her a line about it being his old one which broke. Helen is further rattled when Ian asks whether she switched the phone on, and Helen asks how could she when he's just told her it’s broken? John Black is yellow carded, and at half time Coventry are 1-0 up. John wants to come off but Coates won't allow him. In the second half there is a collision between Fletch and Gary McAllister, with Fletch suffering a kick to the face and is stretchered off. Sean is dead against Luis being brought on as a substitute, but Coates goes ahead and sends him out. John is also off when his knee can take no more, and Alex is now on. A corner leads to a mistake by Sean and Luis, and the ball is effectively handed to Coventry with another goal. Following this, Sean and Luis have a full on fight on the pitch, and are both red carded. It isn't long before Coventry have a third. The final score is 3-0 to Coventry. Knowing that Helen has returned alone to their room at The Grange, Ian rushes off without speaking to the media. Jerry tells Frank he will be fining Luis twenty grand for what happened on the pitch today. Helen listens to the Luis/Mica encounter, but hides the phone under the mattress when Ian bursts in. Helen confronts Coates about how the message proves Luis was fighting off Mica, and susses that Ian stayed quiet in order to get rid of Luis and his job back. Coates turns menacing and demands Helen tell him what she has done with the phone, stopping her from leaving. Notes: · The Best: Frank going to get some answers from Sean and Luis after their fight and double sending off, but ending up having to physically separate them again when things return to Mica. Helen uncovering the truth and taking Coates to task. Quotes: Jerry to Mica on Luis (for Lynda to overhear): "Let's hope he doesn't wreck the game... like he wrecks marriages!". · Additional Info: Richard Keys reports it will be the first time Harchester has qualified for a European competition in its 104 year history (going by it’s year of turning professional, 1895).
