MacKinley phones Jerry, and directs him to bring the money to the disused abattoir half-a-mile from the ground. Jerry gets to the club to be told by Marilyn there has been a security breach, and around four-hundred-grand was found in the safe. A flustered Jerry explains this away as being from the games over Christmas, but then is told by Marilyn that the money has now been banked. Gordon takes charge of training, with the lads unhappy about his formation methods involving linking the team together with a rope and Ray being sidelined. Gordon makes it clear to Andy Ansah that if he doesn't like it he can be replaced as captain.

Lynda comes to the club to see Jerry, and Marilyn takes the opportunity to drop hints about Luis, how his operation went well and how he must be lonely out there without his married lover! Didier tells Ray he didn't come to the club to be trained by Gordon, and Ray says it is up to the two of them to hold the fort until Luis gets back. Gordon rewards Scott and Eddie with places in his first team squad tomorrow. Gordon is confused when Jerry asks him who in the team they could transfer for cash... today! MacKinley wants to know why Jerry isn't on time, and Jerry pleads his plans were forced to change. He promises MacKinley he will get his money by the end of the day, and sees Marilyn standing at the door having heard everything!

Billy and Wes arrive for Michael and Ann's engagement party held at the club, and are distracted by an attractive young girl getting out of a taxi. Jerry explains his situation away to Marilyn with how his bridge company completed two projects and now can't get either client to cough up, and they could go under if they don't have the money by 5:00PM today. Marilyn suggests borrowing the club's VAT money out on deposit as long as Jerry pays it back in six weeks. He gratefully accepts, and requests Marilyn transfer the money electronically rather than by cheque. Marilyn is on to Jerry, and asks him to trust her as they can work together.

The young girl appears inside the party and makes a beeline for Eddie, sending a woman he was chatting up off in a huff. Eddie remarks shouldn't the girl be at school? The girl reveals herself to be Eddie's sister Gina, and he is exasperated when she says she has had a fight with their parents. MacKinley phones Jerry once more, and taunts that he is following Lynda and she's buying the most outrageous underwear! Eddie escorts Gina, who is sixteen, out and back to their parents before he gets in trouble.

Lynda congratulates Ann and Marilyn takes the chance to ask her about her wedding to Jerry and whether she believes in the marriage vows. Lynda is well aware Marilyn knows about she and Luis. Eddie puts Gina in a cab and sends her off, however she doesn't even make it out of the ground before she's pulled up beside Scott Lucas and he has joined her in the cab! Scott takes Gina back to his where he says he doesn't even know what her name is. Gina smiles that he should call her Mel. Jerry has arrived at the abattoir with the money, only the place is deserted and no sign of MacKinley. Jerry yells in frustration.

Notes:

Best Known For: After stints on “Teachers” (2001), “Harry & Cosh” (2002-03) and a memorable appearance in “The Football Factory” (2004), Kara Tointon returned to DT for a regular stint once again playing Gina. This was immediately followed by her prominent regular role as Dawn Swann in “EastEnders” (2005-09) and another starring role in “Mr Selfridge” (2015-16). She also played the lead part of Maria in “The Sound of Music Live” (2015). In her personal life she won the 2010 series of “Strictly Come Dancing”.

·          The Best: When Lynda asks Marilyn what she is going to do now she knows about she and Luis, Marilyn snarls “Nothing… except be really jealous!”. As the girls get to the music, Gordon joins them and is half performing a strip tease, to the players watching horror! Gina choosing Mel as the fake name to give to Scott, though surely Molly as in "Ano" would have been more appropriate?

Additional Info: Jerry hears the radio report Gordon will be continuing as caretaker manager while Luis is receiving treatment at a San Diego clinic.

·          Soundtrack: Donna Summer: “Hot Stuff”
