The next morning MacKinley phones Jerry at home, warning him he is on his way to his office. At training, Scott tells Eddie all about the amazing girl he pulled last night, who he’s left alone in his flat. Eddie hilariously believes she will be doing Scott’s flat over right now. Jerry is spooked when he sees D.I. Dawson in with Marilyn having a chat. Dawson questions Marilyn about a bank transfer she signed for five-hundred-thousand-pounds and asks what services it was for. When Marilyn says the club's business affairs are confidential, Dawson says not when he's investigating a potential fraud, and Marilyn wonders what Jerry has gotten her into.

Jerry's problems continue when Sandra sees "Mr Smith" into his office, and it's only Mr MacKinley! Jerry gives him the briefcase and MacKinley examines the cash, with D.I. Dawson in the room next door. Marilyn is gob smacked when Dawson informs her the money paid into the Bahamas Trust account was then withdrawn less than 24 hours later, and believes it has been stolen from Harchester United. Jerry is desperate to get MacKinley out of his office, while the gunman makes sure he is satisfied with the payment. Sandra now brings Dawson in to see Jerry, and MacKinley stands in the middle of them both, to Jerry’s horror. MacKinley calmly walks away with the rest of his money and Dawson is none the wiser!

Scott spills to Eddie that his girl wants to do it with him in the kit room, and Eddie persuades Scott to let he and the lads come along and watch. When Dawson reveals to Jerry that he knows he owns 99% of the shares in the Bahamas Trust, and he is on CCTV at the bank withdrawing the money, Jerry asks Sandra to call Phillipa. Dawson then drops it on Jerry how he was traced going straight to the abandoned abattoir where he believes he handed over the money. Dawson tells Jerry he will be charging him with fraud and theft. Marilyn bursts into the Block's house and accuses Lynda of being in on Jerry tricking her into stealing half a million, all to get Lynda to return to him. Marilyn doesn't believe Lynda didn't know, and reminds her she made her look a fool over Luis.

Scott gets the lads set up in the kit room in preparation for "Mel"'s arrival. Marilyn tells Lynda she can't resign as it will damage her career, and that's all she's got. She asks Lynda why she stays with Jerry, and Lynda says she wanted children. D.I. Dawson is about to arrest Jerry when Jerry admits he took the money to the abattoir - to pay a bribe to Councillor Lal! Scott wheels Gina into the kit room inside a container on wheels, and making out, Eddie is horrified to discover Scott's new bird is his little sister who has just turned sixteen! Eddie goes for Scott and wrestles him to the ground, before warning him he doesn't know what he has done!

Notes:

The Best: Jerry looks as if he is about to have a heart attack when Dawson and MacKinley are in front of him. It’s remarkable it never happened to Jerry this season. Marilyn’s accusations of what Jerry offered Lynda to continue their “charade of a marriage” - a diamond necklace or a castle in Scotland?

·          Continuity: Jerry’s implicating of Councillor Lal in his bribe story harks back to his very first episode over planning permission for The Dragon’s Lair.

Additional Info: This is Kara Tointon’s last appearance as Gina until her regular return, a whole five seasons later and as the girlfriend of Fletch, in 8.10 (#334) Who Ate All The Pies? This episode takes place on 11th January 2000. Marilyn has had news from Luis’s doctor that he won't be available for seven weeks.

·          Soundtrack: Beck: “Mixed Bizness”
