GS: James Carson-Brandt (Andrew Hall) Mr Justice
Lawson (Peter Harlowe) Court Clerk
(Dickon Edwards) Ms Hammond (Rachel Fielding) Dr Packard (Andrew Alston) Pathologist (Selva
Rasalingam) Dr Christensen (Paul Cameron) It is the first day of Fletch's murder trial. Stevie and Lynda are both at
the court to support Fletch, and Lynda informs Karl Victoria has still said nothing of the bribe money. Fletch answers the charge
and pleads not guilty. Ms Hammond for the prosecution paints Fletch as highly ambitious with a violent
streak, who battered Prash to death on the day the
Champions League came to Harchester. The lads are still unhappy with Monday acting as
manager, and Lynda reminds them not only are they under contract to play, but
to do it so Fletch has something to come back to at the end of his trial. Dr Packard who attended the scene of Prash's death gives evidence, stating Prash
received a blow to his temple and another to the back of his head. Lynda
persuades Claudia not to leave, and upgrades her role from PA to Executive Assistant. The Pathologist gives his evidence that the second blow to Prash's head was what
caused his death, from falling backwards and fracturing his skull on his desk
following the first blow to his temple. Carson-Brandt brings up that Prash was suffering from Eggshell Skull which gives a
possibility he might not have died from the impact had he not had the
condition. Danny is next to
enter the witness box. Ms Hammond brings up how Danny and the team saw to it
that Fletch was removed as manager after one day for the return of Ray, and
Fletch's anger at this was directed at Prash. Lynda visits Jamie at The
Grange and lets him know although Monday will be in place until a permanent
manager is appointed, they need their goalkeeper back. Jamie makes it clear
he will only return when either he or Monday is transferred. Things get worse
for Danny, and for Fletch in the dock, when Fletch knocking Jamie out at the
Christmas party is used as proof of his violent character. Sandra is next on
where she confirms Prash told Fletch after Ray's last game the job would be
permanently his. When Andy Ansah is called as a witness he is asked about Fletch, sitting behind he and
Ray in the dugout, overhearing Ray say Prash had offered him a five-year deal
to stay on as manager. Stevie cancels his plans for an evening with Nikki when he
discovers she has invited Claudia over, blaming her for the team no longer
having a manager. Lynda keeps Fletch company at
his house, as he doesn't want to be alone. Fletch cannot hide his vulnerable
side - and shares his fears that if he goes to prison he will be dead within
a month. Karl believes Prash deserved to die, but Lynda replies nobody
deserves it, even after what Prash put her through. Fletch admits to Lynda he
has always thought she was the most beautiful woman he'd ever seen. Lynda kisses
Fletch, who is suspicious at first, but realises she wants to be with him,
and the two go up to his room. The next morning Fletch asks Lynda was it just
a sympathy thing her sleeping with him, while Lynda assures Karl she
genuinely cares about him. Dr Christensen, a Consultant Haematologist gives his evidence on Prash's blood found
on Fletch's tracksuit trousers, saying the smear was very small and no tests were
done to see if anyone other than Fletch could have been wearing the trousers.
Victoria arrives for her big moment, and after describing the scene of Prash
roasting Fletch on how he would never trust him to manage on a permanent
basis, repeats her story that she saw Fletch in Prash's office leaning over
his dead body. Brandt refers to Victoria having her own PR agency and selling
her own divorce, not to mention how she is an alcoholic who herself had
violent intentions towards the victim. Victoria throws back that Fletch paid
her not to come here today, on top of which he then had Jamie try and kill
her! After incriminating Tash in the
courtroom also, Victoria announces she has a tape to prove it all… Notes: Best Known

the youth team he used to clean Fletch's boots. Lynda taking the depressed
Fletch out to do what he does best - a kick about with Danny, Stevie and Peggsy in the gym. Continuity: Lynda talks of when Fletch came to Harchester (presumably his 2000

with his grace and passion on it which shows her he could never kill someone.
Fletch reminisces of the time he and Luis bet their sports cars on who could
seduce Lynda first. Additional

Scenes: Jane Hewland later spoke of
how writing the scenes of Fletch and Lynda together in this episode dictated
that this should be the moment the two first slept together, adding
“The production team were a bit appalled to come in and find Fletch and
Lynda had slept together which wasn't at all what we storylined. But it
worked. Often DT had a life of its own.” |
