GS: Bob Adams (Phillip Lester) Yasmin Shawcross (Amma Antwi) Maddie Osbourne (Jane Peachey) Larry Littner (Stephen Rose) Charlie MacDonald (as himself) John Salako (as himself) Monday is sent on Bob Adams's Harchester Sound show to
field angry questions from the fans about when they will be getting a new
manager. Monday then gets a question on whether he would be up for managing
the club? David leaves his letter
of resignation for Lynda, and she asks him
to stay on for at least the Charlton game as John Barnes has pulled out.
Aware that Maddie is Stevie's fiancée, Claudia learns from Andrei how Stevie has
told the dressing room he has slept with her. Peggsy is excited when
David livens things up by announcing anyone in the squad has a chance to make
his team on Saturday. The team try and persuade Monday into approaching Lynda
for the manager's job. Nikki and Gary have a
picnic by the Harchester canal, and she presents him with Saturday’s
team sheet as a souvenir having made his first selection game. Claudia
presents Maddie with her comp for the Charlton game, making sure she doesn't
let on to Stevie she will be attending. Monday visits David and puts it to him that having
talked to Lynda about taking over as manager, how would he feel being his
number two? Dawn, attempting to get
her acting career back on track, worries about being too old and storms out
on the casting directors. Claudia lets Nikki in on Stevie's bet, and
persuades her to hand over Yasmin's number so she can make sure she is at tomorrow's game. David has a
confrontation with Lynda in her office over how he is the one with the
coaching experience, not Monday. David lays down the law to Monday that he will be
in charge until he is removed, and after that he will manage elsewhere, but
his days of being anyone's number two are over. David brings Dawn home having
made a drunken spectacle of herself in front of Stevie and Andrei, and she
admits he must know about she and Alan. David flips, saying with the whole
world waiting for him to be fired the last person he wants to talk about is
Alan. As the team change before the match, David takes
revenge on Stevie for his continued attempts at undermining him as manager
and drops him completely from the game. Stevie's worst nightmare comes true
when Yasmin and Maddie come face-to-face in the Players' Lounge. The girls
realise the full truth, how Stevie has proposed to both of them. A smug
Claudia watches on as Stevie's fiancées pelt him with food. Revealing
her plan was owing to his bet, Claudia forces Stevie to admit to the dressing
room that he did not sleep with her. Speaking with David afterwards, Monday
commits to backing him as manager, provided he will let him be his number
two. Notes: The Best: Dawn getting drunk in the Blue Room bar and coming onto Stevie and Andrei,
until they have to phone the gaffer in order to get away from her! Peggsy
going to Danny as he was in the
youth team last year, with "night-before nerves” and hearing how
he, Jamie and Monday
conquered their debut fears. Quotes: Maddie [to Claudia upon spotting Yasmin in the Directors' Box]:
"I'm surprised she's here. Still, from what Stevie says she'll go to
anything that's free. She'll get drunk and flash her boobs later. She usually
does!" Yasmin [vice-versa to
Nikki]: "Isn't that that air hostess who was stalking Stevie a couple of
months back? What's she doing here? Sad cow!" Continuity: Claudia tells Lynda the most embarrassing thing about Stevie’s
bet was that it was just £1. Lynda informs her she had the same bet
when she first arrived, only they bet their sports cars on her! Stevie refers
to Ian Coates being at 10/1 to return as manager and he's “drying out
in a clinic”. Additional
Info: High street bookies are giving 3/1 for Ray Wyatt
to return, 7/1 Alan Curbishley and even 100/1 on Karl Fletcher resuming
his one-day managerial stint. Andrei is twenty-four years old. What Was The
Score?: Harchester go in goalless at half time. A pass
from Danny sees Monday score, and Harchester win the match 1-0. Soundtrack: Chicane: "Offshore",
Air: "Caramel Prisoner" |
