Tash takes Hope and drives off, as Shannon explains to Fletch and Abi that she thought it was over between them and she didn't know about Jamie’s daughter. Robbie is about to leave for overnight at The Grange when Tash appears, making it clear she wants to stay. Ryan tells Tara he has told the police that she was driving and must back him up, just as Hughes appears to take her to the station. Hughes points out to Tara the CCTV image taken after the accident shows her in the passenger seat, and doesn't believe she isn't covering for Ryan.

Jamie turns up at Robbie's and explains to Tash that he had a relationship with Shannon while they were both in treatment, but it ended when he left and came home to realise all he wants is she and Hope. Tash firmly tells him she wants a divorce. Jamie now goes to Shannon and reminds her of a therapy they learned about love being destructive or constructive, and says Tash is destruction and wants to be with her, and they kiss. Boxing Day and everyone who ate at Abi's has been struck down by food poisoning. Jeff brings flowers to Shannon's door only to get a shock when Jamie appears!

When Robbie hears it was Fletch's turkey he is worried for Tash at his, and the not-playing Jamie sets off to see her. Jamie arrives to find Tash with stomach cramps and phones for an ambulance. Jeff tries to pay Shannon off with up to fifty grand. She tells him she's staying with Jamie but is rattled when Jeff informs her he's with Tash right now. When Marcel nearly collapses at half time, Patrick calls forward youth teamer Clyde, asking how he feels about marking Ryan Giggs!

After a brow-beaten Tara is told all the witnesses place Ryan as the driver, and is shown the cells where she could be going if Mr. Wilson dies, Hughes makes sure to show Ryan scoring a goal and not caring about her. This leads to Tara answering yes when asked again was Ryan driving. Jamie stops Shannon at the airport, and pleads with her to stay, telling her he loves her. Hughes arrives to arrest Ryan for causing the accident, with failing to stop, report and perverting the course of justice thrown in.

Notes:

First appearance of Clyde Connelly (Tim Smith)

Best Known For: Tim Smith's acting credits include "Peak Practice" (3 episodes, 1996-97), "Heartbeat" (1 ep, 2001), regular student Ian Potterlan in "Teachers" (9 eps, 2001-02), one of many DT alumni in "Days That Shook The World" (2 eps, 2004-05), "Jar of Hearts" (2013) and "Surrender to It" (2025) which he also produced and directed.

The Best: Robbie praising Clyde for his marking of Giggs, who didn't score again whilst he was there.

Quotes: Patrick on the salmonella poisoning that has taken Fletch and Curtis out of the team: "This is ridiculous! We're playing Manchester United this afternoon! Half the team are playing out of position… reserves all over the place… and the subs bench should be at school!"

Additional Info: Jeff talks to Shannon about how as a player he nearly signed for the New York Cosmos when Pelé & Beckenbauer were there. Of course Jeff was attempting to schmooze Shannon at the time, and we never heard of him having a prominent career as a player at any other time.

What Was The Score?: A weakened Harchester side include replacements Carlo Chino and Sam Harris from the reserves and youth teamers Clyde and Paul Wood on the bench. In the first half, Beckham scores, and Giggs makes it 2-0. Second half, Robbie scores, and a goal from Ryan finishes the match 2-2.

Soundtrack: Beverley Knight: "Shoulda Woulda Coulda",  Eminem: "Lose Yourself",  Traxx: "Mystery Land",  Perry Botkin JNR & Barry De Vorzon: "The Riot"
