Deep & Crisp & Getting Even

With Jamie on the warpath, Christmas dinner with Fletch and Abi is excruciating for a guilty-looking Tash. However, an unexpected Christmas call from Tinseltown changes everything, and suddenly Jamie finds the boot on the other foot. Plus, the long arm of the law is closing in on Ryan, but can he protect Tara from investigation?

The car is scratched; Ryan has been waiting at the garage with it, sleeping overnight. He pays the garage extra to fix his car before opening time.

Tara, who is asleep at home, is having nightmares about what happened. Ryan though, is perfectly fine. He arrives home, and sneaks in hoping for his Dad not to see him, he’s awake though and sees him come in. Stuart smells the alcohol and asks if he’s been driving. Stuart asks for the keys and tells him it’s going back before it gets him into any more trouble. Ryan hands them over.

Tash is home alone and sitting next to the tree. Jamie comes in and goes upstairs, Tash runs after him. He begins packing her bags telling her that he wants her out of his life. Tash tells him that it’s over between her and Robbie, Jamie though, tells her that nothing should have been going on in the first place.

Tara is at home listening to the radio. It is asking if anyone can ring the police if they saw an accident last night. The accident Tara made.

Jamie tells Tash to get out and go and see Robbie. Jeff comes in, not knowing what has gone on. He tells him and Jeff cannot believe it. Jeff tells them to sort it out and remember about Hope and then leaves. Jamie tells Tash that he needs to do his physio, and tells her that he wants him out by the time he gets back.

The team are eating lunch at the club, and Abi invites the players to come round for Christmas dinner at her and Karl’s house. They all agree. Abi then goes off to ask the girls.

Tara, who has arrived upstairs for work, finds a police officer asking Sandra for a list of all the cars belonging to players. He does explain that it’s just a routine inquiry. Tara goes to see Ryan and tells her that they are looking for players cars. Ryan tells her that he doesn’t have it anymore and they don’t even have a number plate to trace it. Tara reminds Ryan that if the other people identify them they’ve had it but Ryan brushes it off telling her that they probably just came out of a similar Christmas party, drunk.

Jeff goes after Robbie and has a go. He ends up trying to lash out but is held back by the other players. He tells Robbie that come January, he’s going to be first out the door. Robbie asks him how that’s possible and Jeff replies, telling him that he’s his agent. Robbie brushes him off telling him he isn’t anymore.

The team, who are training, are met by the same police officer asking for car details. He asks for a word with Karl Fletcher. Patrick tells him that after training is finished he’ll open up the boardroom for them. Tara sees the police office taking Karl upstairs. She overhears him getting asked if he drove a silver porche to the party, Karl though, tells the officer he got a taxi. The officer receives a call telling him that a silver porche was borrowed from a showroom before the party, and was given back to them the day after by Stuart Naysmith. Tara begins to worry. He asks for directions down to the changing room, and Tara takes him down.

Jeff goes to see Tash to notice all her bags are packed. She tells him that she doesn’t know where she’s going to go. She tells him that she’s tried to sort things out with Jamie but he doesn’t want to listen.

The police officer asks if he drove the TVR last night and he tells him that he got a taxi home from a hotel. He tells the officer that he can check at the hotel if he wants. He tells the officer that no one drove his car last night.

Jamie arrives home and Jeff tries to persuade him to talk to Tash. Jamie tells him and Tash both to get out though. Jeff leaves. Tash tells Jamie that she is going to go but wants to tell him a few things. She tells him that after the crash and after Hope came along she felt alone. She tells him that they had been going wrong well before the crash and that he hadn’t touched her in ages (He was having an affair with Victoria Baptiste). She tells him that she wasn’t sleeping and she felt like crap all the time, then a man came a long that just wanted to love her.

Stuart goes to find Ryan and asks if he was involved in the accident. He tells his Dad that he wasn’t. Stuart asks why he had stolen his driving license and details and if he is found out he could be in serious trouble. Stuart tells Ryan that they’re going to go straight down to the police station and clear everything up.

Jamie is still furious with Tash, he begins picking things up and smashing them. Tash, who is in floods of tears, begs him to stop but he won’t. She begs him not to split them up. Jamie asks why he shouldn’t, and Tash replies telling him that she is sorry and asks for one more chance. He leaves, leaving Tash alone.

Jamie goes round to see Fletch. Karl asks him what he’s going to do and he tells him he doesn’t know.

Stuart and Ryan have gone to see the police. Ryan admits to stealing his Dads details and tells the officer that he knew it was wrong. He admits that he drove the car to the party and back home but no one was with him. When asked, he tells the officer he was drinking, he tells the police he stopped in a lay by as he thought it would be better no to drive.

Fletch, who still has Jamie round at his house, tells him that Robbie is finished here. He tells him that he can’t throw away a marriage as him and Tash were meant to be together. Karl tells him that he shouldn’t throw away four years of marriage because she had an affair. Jamie asks if he would forgive Abi and Fletch doesn’t answer. Karl tells him that what Tash did was wrong, but he isn’t exactly whiter than white, as he slept with Victoria.

Ryan is still with the police. He tells them that in the morning he drove it home and then Stuart took it back to the showroom. Stuart asks what’s going to happen and the police officer tells him that they are going to take a sample of Ryan’s blood to see if they can charge him with drink driving. They will then charge him with using false documents without insurance.

Jamie has gone back round to see Tash. He tells Tash he will sleep on the sofa while she sleeps in the bed.

It’s morning and Abi and Karl are exchanging presents. Tash sneaks down with Hope and begins opening presents. Ryan and Stuart are also giving each other presents. Stuart gets Ryan a car, excitedly he runs outside, but is a bit shocked when he sees it’s a blue mini. He still hugs and thanks his Dad though. The police arrive, asking if they can ask some more questions. They tell Ryan and Stuart that they have found out that the car has been repaired, very recently. He tells the police that he hit a post and got it fixed. The officer asks why he didn’t admit to this before and he tells him that if he did it would have looked like he was in the accident.

Abi tells Karl that they will have to stop messing around as she has to defrost the turkey. Nikki and Curtis are opening presents themselves when the same police officer arrives. Without meaning to get Tara in trouble, they tell the officer that Ryan and Tara left in the car together. Tara tells the police that they left the party early and Ryan offered to take her home. He asks what happened on the way home, she does not mention about hitting a post at all though.

Abi goes round to Tash’s to ask if she has a carver when Jamie arrives home. She invites them both over for Christmas dinner. Tash asks Jamie what he thinks and he agrees they should go.

While Stuart and Ryan are eating their Christmas dinner the doorbell rings. Once again it’s the police and he asks Ryan to come down to the station. Tara, who is across the way knocking at Abi and Karl’s, sees him being taken away. She doesn’t seem to care.

The police tell Ryan that Tara’s statement was completely different to his. Ryan admits that Tara was with him and that he took her home. He still admits he hit a post but the police tell him Tara mentioned nothing about a post.

While everyone is at the Fletcher’s eating, a young American woman gets a taxi to The Barons in Harchester from the airport. Tara leaves the meal early, not able to think about anything except Ryan.

The police once again ask if Ryan was involved in an accident. He wants again says no, but then they show some CCTV footage. Ryan tells the officer that it wasn’t him driving, Stuart asks for a solicitor for his son. Meanwhile, Tara has gone to Harchester General to see the man in hospital.
