Which brings us to the first of three exciting movie projects you've got coming this way very shortly. We'll start with Guardians of the Galaxy in which you play the kick-ass sounding Nova Centurion in the Marvel comic adaptation. Tell us more!

I originally read for the part of Nebula. It was so top secret they changed the names of the parts reading, no clue it was for a big Marvel movie and when the call came through with an offer my agent told me I hadn't won the part I'd gone up for but they'd offered me 'something' else... Did I want to accept? Very secretive indeed. I was so excited at the thought of being in a Marvel movie I couldn't contain it! I'd have played a wing nut if they'd written it. No character breakdown, no name given and no confirmation of dialogue... I was advised it could be a mistake to take a role with absolutely no details whatsoever but hey, I'm in the second feature trailer release standing inches away from my hero John C Reilly... IT WAS A GREAT DAY AT THE OFFICE AND OH SO WORTH IT!!! With any luck they'll have kept all my scenes in the finished film, I got great scenes with Glenn Close (MY ULTIMATE!) and the one and only John C Reilly, super sexy Zoe Saldana, hot to trot Chris Pratt and the oh so luuuuvely David Batiste!!!

The next is Hard Time Bus, in which you play Denise, the girlfriend of the lead character Mark (Neil Reidman) who is seemingly keeping quite a few secrets from her?

Yeah, just a few! A great project that I'm very grateful for. Dean Charles the director had sent me the script, it was so well written and full I was excited to be a part of it. The job was a very low budget affair but the production team made it look totally AMAZING. We've won at two major film festivals, nominated in all categories at the American Black Film Festival New York and have just picked up a US distributer so well done all the team at 2HOTFILMS!!!! And thank you for including me on your feature film debut!

The next, Honeytrap, is inspired by shocking true events of gang activity and betrayal, directed by Rebecca Johnson. This sounds like a thoroughly gripping project?

This film is truly incredible for many reasons. Jessica Sula the lead actress who plays Leila David is a revelation and I'm truly blessed to have been a part of this story telling. I ask that anyone interested in my career please look out for this movie not for my involvement but to support bringing awareness to such hideous crimes now being perpetrated on a regular basis by members of our adolescent society. I know this film will be moving and a wake up call to all who are touched by it's powerful narrative. Child crime is a big problem and I feel very attached to the telling of this story. I'm always humbled and grateful to be involved in new projects but as much as a new job can bring joy, this film in particular brought home the fact that all of us 'players' upon our stage were brought together by the true death of a young boy.

We should also give a mention for your involvement with the charity The Buddhafly Movement. What does that involve?

I first met the amazing designer Laura Ward two years ago at a market. Her creations are nothing short of a joy to wear and have injected some much needed colour into my otherwise tame wardrobe! Laura works with silk and cotton sourced in India, whilst there she was touched by the poverty of the children she came into contact with and decided, with her own money to set up a charity The Buddhafly Movement. I have been involved in charity work over the years in various forms (climbing Kilimanjaro for the Bobby Moore Fund back in 2002) and very much wanted to generate funds towards such a worthwhile charity. Laura and I are connected via Instagram (N4omiryan) and (Buddhaflylondon) I repost and Tweet her designs as well as wear her pieces to parties and functions where I may be photographed to get this fabulous girl noticed! She's a regular at Portobello market London and has launched online. I look forward to supporting her in the future with the intention of generating more money for her business and amazing charity.

Thanks Naomi. Is there anything else you'd like to add?

I'd like to say I'm very proud of Dream Team and thankful to you and your fans for following and taking an interest in my career, it's wonderful to have feedback and be supported! Take good care!
