Its precise location in the series is not given, so is unknown whether Alex was as far away as the Meldon's in With Alex's release from the home coming up, Denise Wilkinson asks her friend and Alex's former coach Frank Patcham if he'd take him back into the youth team. Although fond of Denise, Frank needs to see how Alex's skills in football are presently, and agrees to watch him in a practice match led by Pete, a coach Frank knows for scouting talent at detention centres. Frank is impressed enough to offer Alex a three-week trial when he gets out, but tells Denise owing to his troublemaking an eye will have to be kept on Alex by he moving into the hostel. |
