DT Locations: Youth team hostel
			The Addison Road youth team hostel appeared in 26 episodes of DT in Season 2. With Harchester holding onto their place in the Premier League at the end of the 1997-98 season, Des saw the prospect of a hostel on the Addison Road site as an upgrade on the family's home, which had operated as a digs for youth team members for several years. Lynette wasn't keen, seeing it as giving up more family time for football, and even less privacy, but went along with it being Des's dream. Before long, Lynette decides to put her own dreams into action and leaves on a cruise ship. Des is sad without his family, but has the boys' education officer Helen living in alongside Billy and Leon for company. Billy and Leon are in Room #3 while Alex moves himself into #1 with Gary, and Hari becomes his target when he is placed in their room. Alex's mockery of Hari includes a penalty shoot-out between Hari and his teddy bear, before proceeding as Judge Wilkinson for his self-appointed trials of players who don't make the grade. There are consequences for all when Hari disappears, and then quits football. Helen begins seeing Ian, which troubles Des who has also developed feelings for her. When Helen learns at the Christmas party that Ian has a wife in Holland, she is upset and sleeps with an equally lonely Des. Helen tells Des last night was a mistake but still wants to be friends, and she's in love with Ian. Des cooks Christmas dinner, but is seemingly alone. Fletch and Sean knock for Des who warmly invites them in. Alex turns up and sits down at the table where Warren joins the foursome, and Des doesn't feel so lonely anymore. Both defenders, Leon stands in the way of Alex getting his chance of a pro contract. Recovering from a punch from a drunken Coates, Leon is an easy target for Alex to spike his drink with speed. When Adi is discovered to have been supplying caffeine pills to the first team, Alex knows he is an easy scapegoat and the heat is off him when he plants the speed under Adi's mattress.

Des reaches the conclusion that his family must come first again, and sets off to be with them, leaving a letter behind for Helen and Frank. In his place, physio Trudi becomes the hostel warden. When a shock inspection is held at the hostel, Alex attempts to hide his remaining stash on Leon, this time taped to the back of his picture of Clayton. He takes the rest to Denise's house where she catches him and warns him if anything else happens with drugs she will take it to Frank. Alex gets back as Hardwick is enquiring about Clayton's picture, and must get the drugs back so sets off the fire alarm. When Leon disappears having gained a much-sort after place in the FA Cup final squad, Denise tries to find out if Alex knows anything but he is only interested in the result of getting a place in the team for Wembley. Outside the coach, Billy sets her straight on how if Alex didn't get Leon's place he was going to do something horrible to Clayton, and she must bring her son down. After the win, the new ground The Dragon's Lair opens shortly into the 1999-00 season, and as part of the Addison Road redevelopment, the hostel, along with the stadium and training ground are demolished for a new housing estate on the land.
