Emma, Jason The other Harchester.net... ...and the other Gareth! Fletch is back... that's something put right from Season 8's finale! |
GS: Karl Fletcher (Terry Kiely) Emma Collison (Anya Lahiri) Gareth (James Marchant) DC Lorimar (Jemma Keys) The boys are suspicious when Jimmy calls an unusual meeting following training, and are rattled when he introduces Detective Constable Lorimar, who asks for assistance from the players who were clients at J.F's casino. When Sean adds he heard J.F died of natural causes, DC Lorimar informs him new evidence has come to light that J.F might not have been alone on the night he died. Sully has started spending time on Harchester.net’s forums, and listens as Jimmy tells Amy how certain information is being leaked on there. After DC Lorimar visits Jason, Katy informs him she got in at half-midnight and he wasn't home. Jason accuses Katy of not trusting him and storms out. After Cindi walks out on him, Gavin socks Miguel one after Sean spills on the money his mom found under Miguel’s bed. Jason says they better back him up for Katy, and outside he encounters an unwelcome blast from the past in Emma, who asks for ten thousand pounds. An already stressed-out enough Jason agrees, just to get her to go away. Cindi goes to Amy and sobs over Gavin caught up in the gambling debacle, with all employees outside the room hearing every word, including Sully. As soon as they are out, Danny is on Amy's computer, typing up the latest from Dragonslayer on Harchester.net. Jimmy unveils Sully as a new coach at training, and is confident the team can bring home the title for the first time in 21 years. Jason has to tell the boys he slept with Emma on the night in Amy sits with Gareth as he attempts to locate the IP address of the computer Dragonslayer uses to post. They get a shock when it lists the very computer they are using - Amy's computer - showing that someone at the club is responsible. Jason gets a shock himself when Katy appears behind him, revealing she knows he can't be meeting Tony as he is in DC Lorimar reveals to Gavin they are looking to find out how J.F managed to sustain injuries to his ribs and chest. Jason is told by Emma he has forty-eight hours to get her money. Jimmy addresses the lads with how they cannot let this latest media attention affect their game. He reminds the team that not even the greats who have played for the club in the past have been in the position they currently are now - with the chance of winning the title, and nobody out there who wants to stop them should be allowed. Gavin informs the boys of the police's latest inquiries, and Jason is worried the injuries to J.F will be traced back to him, as they are from his attempts to help him. Sean continues to insist as long as they stick to their story they will be fine. Later, as Jason sits alone in the dressing room, a familiar, yet invisible voice begins speaking at him, and he is stunned to turn to his side and see Fletch next to him. Fletch taunts Jason on the mess he is in, and grins that he was never going to cut it here anyway. When Fletch tells Jason he'll lose Katy and was only ever a Tyre Boy anyway, Jason yells at him to shut up, only to find Fletch is gone and he is alone in the dressing room again. Notes: Terry Kiely’s third guest stint as (the un-dead) Karl Fletcher begins here, and lasts until the end of the series. Best Known For: James Marchant’s credits include "All About George" (2005), "Waking the Dead" (2007) and the films " Jemma Keys appeared in "Hollyoaks" and its spin-off “After Hours” as Stacey Foxx (2004-05) and is also a TV/sports reporter. The Best: The return of Fletch. The continued on-screen use of “Harchester.Net” as a parallel to the real thing. Quotes: Miguel to Sean on what’s behind Jimmy’s sudden calling of a team meeting: "Maybe Jimmy is going to announce your mother is the new team masseuse!" Continuity: Jimmy lists several HUFC legends of years gone by: Rodriguez (1998-2000), Scott Lucas (1999-2001), Ryan Naysmith (2002-2006) and Karl Fletcher (1992-1999, 2000-2003, 2004-2005). Fletch’s line to Jason about it not hurting "as much as a peg to the back of the head" (8.31 The Day Before Tomorrow) is an indication that the full truth of how and where Fletch died at Barker’s hands came out after the coach explosion. Soundtrack: Black Eyed Peas: "Pump It", Doves: "There Goes The Fear", Fall Out Boy: "Dance Dance", Snow Patrol: "You're All I Have" Behind The Scenes: The use of Harchester.Net (the on-screen version with a capital ‘H’) and the casting of James Marchant to play its real life owner Gareth Moore in the series’ big final storyline, was a thank you from the DT producers/writers for the support harchester.net had given to the show since opening in January 2000. |
