As the team prepare for the Second Leg UEFA Cup Tie with Rangers, Miguel injures his ankle. Sully approaches Jimmy about earning his place back in the team, only to be told that the only game he’ll be playing is tonight's reserve game against West Brom. When Jimmy stops Gemma taking her passport, she runs out of the house and jumps into Liam's car, ordering him to just drive. Sully angrily phones Kim, reminding her that tonight is his night to see the kids, and is told they are in Plymouth because her mother is unwell. Liam is horrified to learn that Gemma was running after an argument with her dad. Liam informs Gemma that her dad is under a lot of strain, and could lose his job anytime, which makes her want to take it easy on him. Gemma arrives home and Jimmy tells her he is at the Grange tonight, and will be calling her at home every hour. Sully gets on the coach heading for West Brom, when suddenly he comes off, telling a shocked Amy he is going to see the kids.

Jimmy is relieved to hear from Shakey that Miguel hasn't suffered any major ligament damage, but his chances of playing tomorrow stand at 50/50. Bored at home, Gemma decides to go to Studs following her dad's call. At Kim's mom's house in Plymouth, Danny tells Kim he can sit outside all night when she won’t let him in. Gemma is immediately noticed by a group of Rangers fans, with one called Connor chatting her up and is surprised to learn she is the Harchester manager's daughter. Jimmy once again phones Gemma, only she is not there to answer. Kim's conscience gets the better of her and she invites Danny into the house, and he tells her he has more on his mind right now than football. As Connor continues to buy Gemma drinks, she slips off to ring her dad herself. Jimmy hears the noise of the music in Studs, and worried he is about to come home, Gemma tries to leave Studs, but Connor grabs Gemma by the arm, thinking she owes him after the drinks. Gemma slaps Connor before running out of Studs, but Connor and his mates are hot on her heels, and Gemma jumps into what she thinks is a mini-cab in order to escape them.

Soon however, Gemma realises she is in more trouble when the "mini-cab" driver takes her in a different direction from the Barrons. Gemma screams and the car stops, with her managing to escape only losing her handbag in the process. Crying, Gemma phones Liam who is at the Grange asleep. She tells him she doesn't know the way back to the Barrons and needs his help, and not to tell her father what's happened. Liam manages to find Gemma, and yells how lucky she was not to have been hurt, before taking her home. They get there to be spooked by Jimmy, sitting in the dark. Jimmy doesn't believe their story and asks Liam why he didn't just come and get him from the start. Jimmy sends Gemma to bed after calling her a cheap slut and then tells Liam he is dropped from the game tomorrow! The next morning, Jimmy arrives to check on Miguel's condition to find him in a totally new one, and is told by Shakey that Miguel was allergic to the coating on the tablets, and whilst his ankle has heeled perfectly, he has been up all night being sick.

In Plymouth, Danny and Kim have called a truce, and Jimmy phones Sully to say he wants him to anchor midfield following Miguel's illness. Sully is in a taxi hoping to get to Plymouth airport, but the driver informs him that a terror plot has shut down all airports across the country. Sully realises he will have to make his journey up the motorway in record time if he is to play. After persuading the taxi driver to speed up, they are pulled over by the police, who then take Sully the rest of the way. He arrives during half-time, and Jimmy wastes no time in telling his replacement Liam that he is off. Man-of-the-match Danny Sullivan steps up to take a penalty and scores, making it 2-2 but time has run out on Harchester’s UEFA Cup dreams. In the Players' Lounge afterwards, Liam angrily rejects Gemma, telling her he screwed up his game tonight, and has lost her father's respect because of her, so doesn't want to see or hear from her again. Jimmy reminds Sully of his running out on the reserve team game, and tells him he is fined a week's wages. He then informs Danny of his appreciation for the commitment to the game he showed tonight, and adds he has his place back in the squad.

The Best: Gemma flicking past "Mile High" on the TV. Sully’s Plymouth-Harchester travelling adventures. First with the taxi driver - Grant Davis is a cabbie and often called on for driver-acting jobs. To the Scottish P.C whom Sully thinks will be a Rangers fan, until he reveals he is in fact Celtic and will gladly get Danny to the game.

Quotes: Connor: "What you doing?"  Gemma (about to go): "Something's come up"  Connor: "Shouldn't that be my line?!"

Foreshadowing: Jimmy warns Gemma about no smoking whilst she is alone in the house [10.32 The Final Whistle Part Two]

Continuity: This is the first time we see Studs this season following Ryan’s departure, and has now reverted back to its pre-Season 7 status of a nightclub. Kevin Keatings refers to Champions League nights at the Lair two seasons ago (2004-05) as the club now plays UEFA Cup.

Additional Info: Harchester's First Leg of the UEFA Cup Tie ended 1-1 against Rangers, with a goal from Gavin. We didn’t see this, so it probably took place towards the end of Alex’s time as manager, and Jimmy credits the Second Leg as the biggest game of his career. Jimmy was Leeds Reserve Team Coach before being appointed Harchester manager.

What Was The Score?: At the end of the first half Harchester are left drawing 1-1 with a goal from Dioup, then equalised by Rangers' Novo. The second half is more in Harchester's favour, and following a second goal from Novo, Dioup is brought down and a penalty awarded which Sully slots in. A 2-2 draw ends the Dragons’ European dreams whilst Rangers proceed to the next stage.
