Zoe (Zoe Paphitis) 2000-2002 Duration: 3.38 (178) - 6.3 (263) Zoe is Harchester United's receptionist, replacing Zena Young halfway through the 1999-00 season. Not long after her appointment, Lynda Block takes over as owner, a woman Zoe greatly admires. As Lynda's season is besieged by inherited financial woes leading to hostilities on and off the pitch, all reveled in by second-majority shareholder Prash, Zoe is a loyal employee and friend. When the funds are not there to pay the players their wages, and the team refuse to play until the matter is resolved, Zoe, along with Sandra and Roger Frost, join Lynda on a heroic mission to collect every last pound from all on-site divisions of the club to make up the nearly £100K needed. Time runs out for Lynda though, and she is forced out when without Prash's money the club can no longer function, with Zoe and friends dejected to see her go. With a new chairman in Sam Irving as a new season opens, Lynda returns, but soon the truth comes out that she caused Prash's death at the previous season's close. Zoe is supportive, offering herself as a witness at Lynda's court case to help keep her out of prison. Lynda repays Zoe's kindness by having she and Sandra her bridesmaids for her wedding to Sam. Zoe is still working for the club as of Christmas 2002, as when Sandra gets food poisoning from Abi Fletcher's undercooked turkey, Patrick's response is to get Zoe to cover for her.
