After he scores the winning goal for Chelsea, Phil watches as Scott gives a post-match interview and how it feels good to come back to the Lair, which prompts him to tell Patrick he wants Scott back at Harchester. Patrick tells him the only way they can get the money is to sell someone in the team. Jacqui is back on track with Phil, and looking forward to the last £2M of their money going on a villa in the sun. Phil is informed Scott will cost £8M and knows there's only one option to go - Monday. It is Nikki’s 23rd birthday and she thinks Sandra and Zoe have remembered, but they think the most important thing about today is the new team photo arriving.

Jeff brings his client Scott to meet Phil. Nikki confides in Monday that she doesn't want to be at the club as everything reminds her of the crash, and she has no friends anymore because nobody remembered her birthday. Monday tells her he will take her out tonight for a birthday drink. Monday is annoyed about the plans to sell him, and Patrick smoothes things by adding they will get the most money for him. As he makes up his mind about signing, Scott pays visits to the lads, before long having him training with them, and Tash, missing out on seeing Jamie but meeting Hope. It isn't long before Monday arrives wanting to tell Tash about the club selling him, but the sight of Scott gives him his answer.

Nikki waits for Monday in the Blue Room when Curtis arrives with the lads. Soon Nikki is quite drunk on her champagne with Marcel, Stuart and Curtis, and when Monday arrives she is having too much fun to leave with him. Curtis takes Nikki home and up to her room, but she cries that she misses Stevie and doesn't want to be left alone, kissing Curtis. Monday meets with the Galatasaray representatives and is offered an impressive deal. He is shown his new shirt, and will even keep his No.8 before the Rep requests a photo of him in it. Nikki takes out her remorse for sleeping with Curtis on Monday, which Monday then sets Curtis straight on, realising his brother abused Nikki, knowing he’d also beat up his wife.

At training, Patrick instructs Stuart to play Scott deep instead of his preferred position up front, which leads to Scott walking out of training. Just as he wanted, Scott turns up in Patrick's office, where he thought Phil had sorted out the position he wanted. Patrick retorts Mr. Wallis may buy the players but he doesn't manage them, and Scott's attitude is the problem. Scott storms out of the club... and Harchester. Stuart susses that Patrick didn't want Scott in the first place, which he concedes they have three top strikers anyway. Monday gets to the heart of the matter with Curtis, on how he double-crossed him over signing last season. Curtis explains he could never play with Linton as how destructive he was, and he backing out was the last time he saw his brother who he wishes wasn't dead despite everything he did. Monday and Curtis clear the air.

Patrick covers his back by telling Phil they can only hope Monday hasn't signed for Galatasaray yet. Phil persuades Monday to stay, but it all changes when the photo of him in the Galatasaray shirt is printed in the paper. Monday angrily confronts Phil saying he is now like Paul Ince when at West Ham in a Man Utd shirt, and the fans will crucify him. Patrick thanks Hankin for his work with the Monday photograph. Jeff thinks he's found the solution to everything with Roberto Mendoza at Madrid, who with an injury they can get for the £8M. Madrid request a further £2M for Mendoza, and not wanting to miss out on another deal, Phil knows he has to withdraw the last of the lottery money.

Monday gets a surprise when the team and staff arrange goodbye drinks for him in the players' lounge, and Patrick makes a speech on Monday's contribution to the club over his two seasons. Monday and Tash have a goodbye hug. Patrick's scheming is dealt a blow when he hears they've got Mendoza on the way.
