Lynda has checked into the Grange, and phones Luis in his room, but chickens out of talking to him. Gordon returns from London and is pleased to give Jerry Charlton's bid for Michael - £2 Million. Jerry is less than pleased, and was hoping for the extra one million they paid Blackburn for Michael. Kelly and Zena are both excited when Zena reveals the record company called and offered her the job. With Scott absent for training, Ray gets it out of Eddie that Scott was going back to his mom's. Marilyn too is surprised on how they will be getting a million less expected for Dillon, and the meeting with Didier and his agent is that afternoon.

Ray feels awkward when Michael talks of how he and Ann are going to view their dream home, and Marilyn arrives at the end of training to inform Luis how Charlton have accepted two million for Michael. Luis is so perplexed at this he and Ray go straight to Jerry in his office, with how Michael is worth so much more to them than two million pounds. Jerry adds it will be more - they are getting a player thrown in - Tommy Simmonds, an England U21 Fullback. Ray knows just who he is - someone who was an England U21 four or five years ago, but is trouble off the field and is now being shipped off in a swap deal. Gordon says Simmonds wasn't handled rightly and trouble and talent go side by side, christening Simmonds their new Leon Richards!

Jerry gets a phone call from one of his spies who has located Lynda at The Grange. Jerry heads to outside Lynda's room, where a porter gives him access after a cash payment. Didier arrives with his agent Barbara Finch, and talks of how he has had a difference of opinion with the coach at Monaco and wants to move. Didier is looking for the challenge of building a legend, something he can't achieve with big clubs like Real, Uvie or Manchester where winning is easy. When Michael and Ann's dream home looks set to be snatched away by another buyer, Ann ups their chances by offering to pay in cash.

Ray meets with Jeff, Scott's agent, and is told Scott has been unhappy with being a sub and a way around this would be a guaranteed first team place. Ray says that is not an option for any player, and Jeff adds he may have to talk to other clubs then. Barbara Finch goes all headmistress on Luis and Marilyn with how their offer of ten thousand pounds a week for a World Cup winner is an insult, and how Didier's terms would start at twenty-five. Luis is called away to finally deal with Jeff, and warns him that it is his job to get Scott back off strike, and how they will talk further if Scott returns to training and makes himself available for the West Ham game.

Lynda gets back to her room at The Grange and is startled to find Jerry sitting in the shadows. Lynda stands up to Jerry, saying if he loved her he'd understand that she feels safer away from him in this hotel, for his standing on someone's toes got her shot. She tells Jerry she wants a divorce. Luis and Marilyn are left disappointed when the even more disappointed Didier and Barbara leave, saying they cannot continue discussions at this time. Jerry accuses Lynda of being at The Grange so she can be near to Rodriguez, and Lynda yells at him to leave. Jerry menacingly tells her to just remember that everything he has done, has been for her. Outside his room, Marilyn convinces an exhausted Luis to come and have dinner with her, and enters his room behind him, just in time for a glum Lynda to witness and think he has moved on to Marilyn.

·          The Best: Gordon, knowing his deal lapped up by Jerry of selling Michael and gaining the hapless “Tommy Simmonds” has been rumbled by Ray, who knows all about the Fullback’s background. Always thought Barbara Finch was an intriguing character. This lady approaching retirement representing the World Cup winning star Baptiste. Sadly she only makes a few appearances so her background isn’t delved into.

Additional Info: Jerry refers to the £1.2M they will lose on Dillon in November compared to the £3.2M they paid for him in July.
