Henry Foster was a long-standing director on DT, with 53 episodes overseen between Seasons 1-6.

 

Starting in Production as an assistant for 8 episodes of "Doctor Who" (1979-80), he rose to manager for 4 episodes in 1982. As a production manager, Henry also worked on "Blake's 7" (3 eps, 1981), "Juliet Bravo" (4 eps, 1984-85), and "EastEnders" for 6 episodes in its first year (1985-86) before beginning his directing career there in 1987, overseeing 17 episodes up to 1996.

 

Henry has since directed many television programmes, including "Brookside" (18 episodes, 1988-89), "Jupiter Moon" (24 eps, 1990-91), "Eldorado" (9 eps, 1992-93), "Crown Prosecutor" (5 eps, 1995) and "Coronation Street" (5 eps, 2006). He directed on fellow Hewland drama "Mile High" (2003-05), and continued on Sky One for "Is Harry on the Boat?" (2 eps, 2003).

 

After DT, Henry's highest directing total for a series is "Emmerdale", where he worked originally in 1988-89, before returning in 2001 for another 13 years. By 2014 he had notched up an impressive 285 episodes.
