Scott is hobbling around on crutches, and knows he will be out for the rest of the season. Ray feels guilty that this has likely cost Scott his Villa move. Lynda calls John Gregory to report Scott has broken five bones in his foot and there may be tendon damage, but she gets nowhere offering to drop his price by a million. Ray reveals to Scott that he and Kitty’s warring was because of his affair with Lynda. Maria wants to go through with the wedding, telling an unwilling Donna she would get only twenty-five grand for selling a story but half-a-million for a divorce settlement.

Campbell and Danny are not happy when Fletch agrees to be Eddie's best man, believing as his friend he should be trying to warn him about Maria. Scott gets a surprise when Ann arrives at the flat with Sam, as it's going to be hard for him to travel to theirs. Ann also reveals she plans to move back to Harchester soon to deal with the business. Fletch comes up with a plan for he to pull Maria while Campbell records the incident and incriminates her. Scott talks of how he can't do anything but rest his foot until pre-season, and tells Ann he's thinking of heading off on holiday.

Kitty moves back in at The Barrons, but makes it clear to Ray she is only home as she's tired of living at The Grange. Scott books three weeks in the Maldives, somewhere Ann has always wanted to go. Campbell hides while a camcorder films Fletch romancing Maria. Maria has already sussed them, and snatching the tape says they're going to have to do better than that to catch her out. Tash tells them to let the women deal with it, and with Lizzie and Siobhan, contacts a journo friend to dig up dirt on Maria. Ann tells Scott she has decided to sell her side of the business. Tash gets a call with info on how Maria did kiss n' tells on two London players a while back.

Danny takes Scott's position on the pitch while he watches from the Players' Lounge. Scott tells Ann he'd like for Sam to come with him to the Maldives, adding he picked up an extra ticket for her as well. Scott asks Ann if there's still a chance for them, as he still wants there to be. Maria gets tarted glammed up for her tabloid interview, spilling about her relationship with Eddie (which she struggles to provide anything juicy), sleeping with Campbell and the video of Fletch seducing her. Tash receives a large envelope containing tacky photos and press cuttings of Maria, who previous called herself Mary Morton, from her last kiss n' tell.

Ann discusses selling the business to Victoria, requesting the same amount she paid in, £50K. Victoria responds with how the most she could stretch to is twenty grand, and Ann is reminded of who she is dealing with. No sooner has Maria received her cash that Donna has snatched it off her. Before they make a getaway, Maria and Donna trespass into Fletch's house, steal money and swig his champagne. After being awarded Man of the Match, Tash and the wives present Eddie with the envelope of Maria's past endeavours. Eddie refuses to believe it is Maria, and warns them to stay out of their lives.

Scott advises Ann to take Victoria's offer and do the important thing which is to move on. Maria is caught out when Eddie arrives home before she's left, and she has to come clean that she is leaving him. Eddie is in denial and pleads with Maria to stay, offering her more money. A guilty Maria says Eddie should want to hit her, not give her more money, and doesn't take his cheque, leaving him to cry as she walks out of his life.
