Fletch, John Gregory Donna, Maria Ray, William Ray, Lynda, Scott |
GS: Maria Kitson (Claire Tyler) Donna Friend (Natasha Kellett) John Gregory (as himself) Lynda is not pleased Ray vetoed a £5M offer for Fletch from Aston Villa, and has invited John Gregory to the club to negotiate. Kitty tells Lizzie she is taking William back to Lynda threatens to put Fletch on the bench if he doesn't take the deal but he calls her bluff, with how he knows how much Ray needs him. A put out John Gregory is about to leave when Lynda offers him Scott instead, being five years younger than Fletch. Fletch reports back to Prash and Victoria that Lynda was trying to sell Scott to Gregory, and they smugly know if Scott goes there will be an outcry. After Lizzie lets slip that Kitty is divorcing Ray, Matt goes round to see him to offer support, and ends up revealing she is planning to take William to Thailand. Ray removes William from the Conlon's, before being informed by Prash that Lynda is holding a meeting to sell Scott to Villa. Scott isn't sure about the deal, and Jeff is determined to get a sweetener which would be the £130K he is still owed from the Monday deal. Lynda paints it to Scott that he could live in south Birmingham and be less than an hour away from Ann and Sam. This is most important to Scott and he agrees to the deal. Ray gets to Scott and Jeff and says the deal was done behind his back, asking them to wait for him in the dressing room. Ray confronts Lynda on how Scott was a piece of the puzzle that has led to them being in the top 6, and now he's off to one of their Champions League rivals who could stop them qualifying with one goal, maybe even scored by Scott. Having been led around the country estate Eddie is planning their wedding reception at, Maria meets Donna, and their plan to escape to Maria has become apprehensive about scamming Eddie, reasoning that he has treated her better than the other blokes they've fleeced. Donna looks at Maria like a cult leader whose disciple is straying, and reminds her of their 'agreement' that the one of them who got the money would help the other, not to mention how Donna was the only one who stood by Maria after the last bloke she conned. Scott waits in the dressing room, as Ray bursts in and barricades himself and William in the physio room. Ray holds Kitty and Lynda to blame for respectively trying to take his son away and selling Scott, and when they fail to persuade him to come out with William, Scott lets him know the main reason he took the deal with Villa was so he could be closer to his own son. Tash has had enough of Jamie being consumed by sport that she chucks his TV down the stairs. William is getting more agitated, and Scott decides it is time to break through, succeeding with a long run and kick which breaks the door, and maybe his foot! Maria persuades Eddie that their home needs to be just theirs for when they are married, and he uncomfortably has to give Campbell and Danny two weeks notice to find new places. Lynda notices Scott is struggling to stand and is in intense pain. He tells her he thinks he has broken his ankle! Notes: The Best: Fletch putting his feet up on Lynda's desk in front of her. John Gregory’s appearance, pulling up at the Lair in his red sports car with VILLA number plates. Additional Info: John Gregory was manager of Aston Villa from February 1998 - January 2002.
