The team discover they have not been paid their bonuses, and are lacklustre in training. Ray questions Lynda, and when she tells him of the delay in Didier's money from Marseille, Ray tells her she owes the boys an explanation in person. Lynda addresses the changing room and assures the team they will have their money by the end of business today. On a PR job with Victoria, Fletch lets slip that Lynda was unable to pay the team their bonuses, which Victoria knows to use to she and Prash’s advantage. Roger comes back to Lynda with a discovery - Marseille have paid the money to Barbara Finch, who they used as an intermediary. Lynda now has to face another night of the players not having their money, as Barbara is in Paris and they've finished for the day.

Fletch has dinner with Victoria, and Prash soon makes an appearance, on a mission to get Fletch on side. Prash tells Fletch soon he will be running Harchester and wants him to replace Ray, as player-manager. Fletch thinks Prash is up to something dodgy and walks away. Prash tells Victoria she is going to have to use her ‘charm’ to get Fletch on board, in return she will get two-and-a-half million pounds and a 20% sharehold when he takes over. Fletch gets a shock when he arrives home to find Victoria waiting for him in his living room Jacuzzi (obviously not improved his security since stalker Craig). Victoria tells Fletch she and Prash have an open relationship and was wanting him all night! Soon Fletch and Victoria are making out.

Jamie takes his stereo and flogs it to Campbell and Danny for £1,500. The players have a further distraction from their non-bonuses when the paper reports Bordeaux are coming in for Ray. Roger speaks with Barbara who tells him the money was sent yesterday, and Lynda is relived. Tash gets a shock when she phones the garage enquiring about their Porsche which was taken in two weeks ago, and the garage claim they have never had it. Tash then notices the stereo missing from the shelf. Confronting Jamie in the Players' Lounge, he dodges danger again by claiming he is sorting both a new stereo and a new Porsche which was going to be a surprise, and Tash excitedly believes it all. Ray assures Lynda his mind is on getting qualification for Europe and has had no contact with Bordeaux.

At the Grange the night before the Newcastle game, Victoria and Prash turn up at Fletch's room where they question him about whether Lynda paid the bonuses after all. Fletch checks his account and there has been no transaction. Prash also adds he has spoken to the chairman of another Premier League club without naming them, and they are not happy Lynda hasn't responded to their putting in an offer for Fletch. Fletch interrupts the team's card game with the news, and gathers the team for a meeting in the empty restaurant, calling for them not to play until they've received their money. Lynda arrives and can only say it must be the same glitch that was delaying the money earlier, and offers to pay them out of her own account in the meantime. Some of the lads feel guilty and say they will wait until the bank is open again, but Fletch warns Lynda they better have their money by close of business tomorrow.

In their room, Danny lets Jamie know he has worked out he has a gambling problem, but Jamie angrily denies it, saying he is not like Danny's father. In the corridor, Lynda has another funny turn, and Ray says this can't be good for her or the baby. Kitty sees the two of them looking close and storms off, thinking Ray is still seeing Lynda. Before the game, Ray sees the team haven't got changed for the match, and Fletch confronts him about another team putting in a bid for him. Fletch commands the lads not to change, but Ray forcibly reminds them he makes the decisions around here and they are to play. Lynda and Roger are furious with Barbara and Roger says he will lodge a complaint with UEFA. Things get worse for Jamie when Ray tells him because of his ongoing injury concerns, he will be on the bench tonight and Ash Harrison will play. Jamie now knows he has lost his appearance fee.

Lynda faces the fuming team, where she has to reveal the money was sent to an agent and not her. The lads now know she previously lied to them about there being a glitch, and Fletch lays into Lynda until Ray fines him two weeks wages. Under immense pressure, Lynda vows to get the players their money tonight, and enlists Roger, Sandra and Zoe to find every bit of cash from all on-site divisions of the club to make up nearly £100K. Matt phones Lizzie to let her know the situation, and Maria points out to start paying cash is well dodgy as it happened to the dot.com company she worked for a week before it went bust. Skewering the club, Lynda just about gets all the money, but is exhausted having to fight fires in every corner from the players to their wives not to mention Prash. Before kick off, Ray lets the team know what they took part in tonight turned his stomach, and made him realise more than ever money was more important to them than the game. The team head out to face Newcastle...

Notes:

The Best: Lynda can only reply curtly that she will send some flowers when Roger informs her Didier is out for the rest of the season with a broken leg. Jamie gutted to have had a royal flush which he then loses due to the irritated lads scrapping the game. Zoe to the rescue traipsing the club collecting any funds to make the players’ bonuses.

Quotes: Victoria (to Prash on her hold over Fletch): "I think he'd run round Harchester in nothing but his purple socks if I asked him to".  Ray (to Fletch): "And as for strikes... when were you the shop steward of Harchester?".  Matt: "I'll call the PFA now and tell them the score"  Fletch: "Well you can call the CIA if you want. But it won't mean sweet FA".

Foreshadowing: Lynda tells Prash to drop dead (4.26)
