GS: Doctor Bradley (James Richardson)  Hospital Consultant (Alex Caan)  Mrs Kingsley (Jacqui Gordon-Lawrence)

The consultant tells Marilyn and Ray that Wes has Bacterial Meningitis, so there is no contagious risk to the other players. He adds although they can treat Wes, he is still at risk of after-affects like Septicaemia. Jerry gets firm with Lynda when she continues to avoid him, warning her it's time she got back to living a normal life, though she adds he only wants that for his own sake. Billy fears Wes could be at risk from amputations of his toes and fingers, but the consultant assures that is more common in younger patients.

Having had £2M pounds delayed from the postponed match, Jerry demands to see Doctor Bradley when he learns Wes's Meningitis is of the Bacterial kind. Scott forces Eddie to read the Meningitis pamphlet they have all been given, when he experiences aches in his armpits. Doctor Bradley doesn't take too kindly when Jerry challenges his recommendation that the match not go ahead because of something non-contagious, stating he took the best precaution of what they could be up against and would do it again. Maxine is suspicious when Lynda locks her door, while she is in fact packing to make a runner.

Kelly sits by Wes when his mother arrives, and Mrs Kingsley says Wes has spoken to her quite a bit about Kelly. Eddie avoided the team meeting, and has been giving himself an all-over examination, anguished to find that his groin is also swollen. Bradley examines Eddie, and when Eddie tells him he has changed deodorants recently, Bradley says his rash is down to his skin reacting to a new chemical. Maxine discovers Lynda has made a runner from the house, and outside Lynda gets in a taxi to The Grange.

Lynda goes to Ray where she tells him the story of how Jerry was responsible for the shooting and was trying to kill Luis. Ray too finds Lynda's story far-fetched and offers his room for her to rest in, while he phones Jerry. Jerry arrives with Maxine in tow, and Maxine is menacing with Lynda, telling her she's had enough of her self-indulgent rubbish. Jerry talks Ray round saying they have been worried about Lynda's behaviour as of late, but he and Maxine take her home. Billy makes it clear to Scott his act of caring about Wes doesn't wash as he remembers how he's treated him since he arrived. To Billy's surprise, Scott admits he's been an idiot. Kelly is back by Wes's bedside, and tells him she loves him. Without her seeing, Wes slowly opens his eyes.
