Watching the Charlton game, Lynda spots Paris St Germain manager Patrick Doyle in the stands, and wonders why he’s at the match. Lynda catches up with Patrick and his sidekick son Taylor as they head off at the final whistle, and Patrick takes her by surprise when he reveals she'll be seeing a lot more of him now he's her new manager! Lynda feels undermined by Sam appointing a permanent new manager over her head and resigns. Patrick takes his first training session, letting the squad know he believes they are good players but haven't been playing well as a team, which is going to change.

Claudia has regained consciousness and is concerned to hear Sam is planning to sell the club and they both return to Australia. Monday still has an uneasy relationship with Patrick following his former manager’s decision to sell him without saying anything. Jamie is relived to get the confirmation that Tash's baby is his. To his surprise, Patrick informs Andrei that he sees him as a key part of the team. Monday watches as Patrick is unveiled before the press, where he states he is taking over from Monday who wants to concentrate on his chances of playing for Nigeria in the World Cup. When Andrei arrives home boasting of how the new manager is going to build the team around him, Monday has had enough and tells Andrei to pack his bags and move out.

Claudia puts it to Sam that she has to take responsibility for her actions, that she hurt Dawn which made Dawn hurt her back, and she is going to need Lynda to teach her if she is going to run the club one day. As Monday sits drowning his sorrows in Studs, Andrei publicly announces that Jamie is the father of Tash's baby. Monday retorts that he loved Tash while Andrei cheats on Anouk with anything in a skirt, and Andrei and Monday have to be pulled apart by the team. Nikki helps Claudia discharge herself from hospital, but she and Lynda are shocked when Claudia wants to go straight back to work. Sam is not impressed and accuses Lynda of being behind Claudia's decision.

Lynda knows even if she wasn't resigning she would be going to prison, and Claudia asks would she teach her everything she knows so she could look after the club then. Taylor Doyle's film crew shoot training for a piece on his father's appointment, but get more than they bargained for when Andrei continues to taunt Monday about Tash's baby. Monday knocks Andrei to the ground and repeatedly kicks him, all caught on camera. Patrick fines and suspends Monday until further notice. Lynda meets with Trevor the reporter with the tape, and first reminding him how no other Midlands club will deal with him if he gets on the wrong side of Harchester, presents a cheque for what a paper would have offered him in return for the tape.

When Andrei sees Lynda on television putting the training ground incident down to a minor clash, he goes on TV himself to show off his bruised ribs and accuse the club of a cover-up! A furious Patrick tells Andrei with he trashing his team mates in public he has played his last game for the club, and is going on the transfer list. Sam and Lynda come to a truce that if she won't resign then he won't be selling the club. Patrick tells Monday to join the squad on the flight to the UEFA game, where he can still support his team mates from the stands.
