Angie, Lynda Luis, Gordon Ann, Michael Kelly, Jerry |
GS: Angie Duxbury (Deborah Chad) Jerry hasn't slept since Lynda went, and has been leaving her messages urging her to call him. Lynda has travelled to Manchester to see her sister Angie, bringing a large teddy bear for her baby nephew. Angie asks what's going on as both their mom and Jerry have called looking for her, and Lynda says she's left Jerry. Kelly asks Zena how things went with Wes last night, and Zena says they didn't, he crashed out in the taxi home. Luis gets to his meeting with Jerry and is shocked to find Ray sitting there, having left to spend time with Kitty in Devon. Jerry remarks if he's paying Ray for another month he wants him here. Jerry confirms they are agreed to buy Baptiste, only they don't have the million needed, coy about the club’s financial status. Luis says it disturbs him they have to sell a player to make a million pounds, but if so, he suggests Scott who is a troublemaker. Gordon, who is at the meeting in a "consultant" role, counteracts this with how Scott is a proven goal scorer who they narrowly won without last night. Luis looks to Ray for support, but is left shocked when Ray agrees with Jerry and Gordon, that although Scott is disruptive we're still to see the best of him and it would be madness to sell him. Lynda tells Angie how Jerry had two nurses watching her round the clock, and she didn't go to their mother as she thinks Jerry is wonderful. Angie mentions how when Lynda was shot Jerry kept saying it was all his fault, and asks is there someone else? Kelly finds Wes training hard on the players day off, and he explains he's keeping fit as he only played 15 minutes last night. Luis puts forward two other names, Eddie Moliano and Wes Kingsley. Jerry again turns to Gordon, who says they wouldn't get the cash for Eddie and Wes is still useful. He says Luis is missing the obvious - Michael Dillon. Luis is against this as Michael is his captain, but Gordon points out the benefits: Michael lacks pace and they'd get as much as Moliano and Kingsley put together. Luis says he backed Michael against his team mates, and they can't afford to have another split so soon after the crash. Kelly breaks the atmosphere with the news the Third Round UEFA draw is about to take place. When Marilyn puts it to Luis is keeping Michael worth keeping Didier out, it makes up his mind for him. Harchester are chosen against West Ham in the draw. As they walk in the park, Lynda reveals to Angie that Jerry knew about her and Luis, but she's sure Luis didn't try and visit her in hospital and was photographed with other women in the celeb mags. As the meeting finishes and Gordon has put forward Charlton as the best destination for Michael, Jerry stops Kelly and threatens to fire her if she reveals anything she's overheard today. Angie makes Lynda realise she doesn't know whether it's really over with Luis, and she's done the hard part in leaving Jerry. Lynda tells her she's going back to Harchester, but not to Jerry, to the Grange. Wes can see Kelly is not happy in her job, and asks is it because she's missing Julie, but Kelly says she needs a change, feeling unappreciated and seeing Zena get a big interview. Jerry makes Marilyn promise not to tell anyone, especially Luis who she has become close to, that Lynda has left him. Gordon comes back and says he's spoken with Alan Curbishley and is going to meet with him tomorrow, with Didier here by the end of the week and Michael heading south for the winter. In the stands, Luis and Ray encounter Michael and Ann excited about planning their future in Harchester, and Luis is unable to tell Michael that he looks set to be leaving the club.
