Season 3 Episode 36Episode 176 Sky One Transmission Date: Thursday 17th February 2000 Written ByJane Hewland & Ian Ridley Directed By Ray Kilby |
Gordon, Ray Gordon Maxine, Lynda, Jerry Ann, Scott |
GS: Kitty Wyatt (Akemi Otani) Ray bangs on Gordon's door ready to kill him. Marilyn is back and finds out from Ray that Gordon is the leak, showing her today's paper detailing how he is married to a 'Thai hooker'. Ray wants to take what they know to Jerry, but Marilyn is sure Jerry will side with Gordon unless they've got solid proof. Gordon strolls in and tells Ray he will take training as he's got enough on his plate(!) before adding Kitty is downstairs waiting for him. Maxine winds Jerry up as he leaves for work, on how Lynda used to be wild before she met him, and had two or three blokes on the go! Gordon continues his tough regime in training, this time claiming to the lads' exasperation that it is their fitness which is the problem, and orders Doggies for this session. Kitty tells Ray if he leaves the club, Gordon would ultimately have won. Maxine convinces Lynda they should go to Ann's Hen party tonight. Marilyn finally gets her 5% shares from Jerry. Scott tells Ann she will be making the biggest mistake of her life if she marries Michael. Jerry is flabbergasted to hear Lynda is going out again, this time to Ann's Hen Do, and Maxine insists it's Lynda who is dragging her along! While Michael and the lads Stag in Studs, Lynda and Maxine arrive at the restaurant to find it is only they and Kelly at Ann's Do. Marilyn has come up with the solution to trapping Gordon - playing him at his own game. They will plant a story about Lynda having an affair with Didier, and catch him selling it by bugging his phone, something Marilyn picked up in her time working for Jerry in the Far East. To Maxine's joy, Ann invites Marilyn over to sit with them. Maxine wants to see the boys and takes Lynda off to Studs, where she again deflects Eddie's attention. Maxine tells Lynda Jerry called while she was dancing, and sounded angry. Maxine asks does Jerry hit her, and Lynda is surprised she thinks this. Maxine responds with what Jerry told her, how the next time he “won't miss”. Alarm bells ring for Lynda at these words. Scott left the party early and has turned up at Ann's door. He tells her that he loves her and asks her to tell him she doesn't feel the same way. At first Ann is adamant she made a mistake the other day and is marrying Michael tomorrow. Scott leaves, but doesn't get far before Ann calls him back, and the two are soon kissing. Notes: The Best: Michael's Stag Do taking place in Studs (which still looks very much as it did in 1.1), a place we have seen little of this season, in favour of the health club and restaurant Flames. Gordon turning up with a Drag Queen, who wastes no time getting Michael on the floor bare chested! Jerry coming up behind Lynda, after she’s just heard further information that he was behind her shooting, and spooking her. · Quotes: Gordon [to Marilyn, on Kitty]: "Shame isn't it? I thought she was such a pleasant lady... turns out she was an old scrubber!” Maxine remarks on how "That Harwood witch" is having dinner across from them with Ray and Kitty. Foreshadowing: Wes mentions Kelly is still living with her parents, and we will see her dad in 3.62. · Continuity: Billy talks to Wes about how when Leon died he wouldn't have got through it without Kelly, and doesn't mind her coming round to be with Wes. Soundtrack: Ricky Martin: “La Vida Loca", Honeyz: "End of the Line”, Stardust: “Music Sounds Better With You", Sash! Featuring Tina Cousins: “Mysterious Times” |
