GS: Paul Hankin (Leigh Cranston) Following their loss at home to Southampton, Gordon in usual form, takes it out on the team as they sit in the dressing room and reflect. This, despite it being pointed out to him by Didier and Eddie, that they had a plan which Gordon vetoed, and should be concentrating more on players than zones. Maxine claims that she told Jerry the full story about Lynda’s dinner with Didier, and asks her sister is Jerry always this possessive? Gordon is much calmer with the press, where he concedes the team played badly. Gordon has a private one-to-one with Hankin in his office, where Hankin says his editor is pleased with his work, before passing across an envelope of cash. Despite Lynda warning her how he has a long line of disappointed women, Maxine rotates towards Scott. Didier gets his chance to speak with Lynda, where he makes it clear he still wants to be friends, and Lynda agrees to go out with him again tonight for dinner. Ann rows with Michael enjoying her most valuable client Didier's misfortune with Gallagher, while she is also rattled by Scott susceptible to Maxine's flirting. Maxine learns Lynda is going off with Didier, and Lynda tells her Jerry won't find out because he will be drinking the bar dry with Gordon all night. Scott sits with Ann in the stands, where he assures her he is not interested in Maxine or any other girl like her, before moving in to kiss Ann. Ann tells Scott she can't do this, and runs away. Maxine tries it on with Wes, but Kelly puts a stop to it and drags him away. Wes worries that Billy will feel pushed out when he gets back and finds he and Kelly are an item. In the restaurant, Lynda is surprised to learn Didier has sussed she is in love with Luis, and like the team she too is counting the days until he returns. Jerry knows Lynda is not at home, and when Maxine is vague in her answers, Jerry grabs hold of her to her shock. Maxine reveals Lynda went out to dinner with Didier again, and an irate Jerry tells Maxine that after getting rid of Lynda’s last playboy, the next time he won't miss! Hankin catches Ray as he is about to leave the club to travel back to Devon, and tells him of the story they are running on Kitty being a prostitute in Thailand. Ray punches Hankin and holds him by the throat until he admits it was Gordon who sold him the story. Notes: The Best: Jerry wants to show Gordon how the defence was all over the place in today's game, and uses the envelope containing the cash from Gordon’s latest story to map out his visioning! Eddie flirts with Maxine but she isn’t interested in him, and orders him to fetch her a Rum & Coke! · Quotes: Maxine referring to Ann's bloke (Michael) as the "Thunderbird puppet". Ray challenges Gordon on how his morale-draining of the lads is creating problems: "If that stuff got into the papers..." Gordon [smirks]: "There are worse things that could get into the papers believe me!" Additional Info: Hankin lets slip to Gordon that he can't stand football as it goes.
