Harry Redknapp (as himself) Lynda and Luis rock up in style
for her first day as Harchester's new owner. Its Transfer Deadline Day, and Ray is waiting for
Jerry to finalise Billy's move to West Ham
and the re-signing of Fletch. Roger Frost
doesn't know where Jerry is either, but is suspicious when Lynda walks past
the window. Without going into detail Lynda informs Roger that Jerry has left
for somewhere remote to sort out another of his businesses, and shows him the
paperwork that everything has been signed over to her. Luis joins Billy and Wes for
injury-training, adding like Billy he is off today but will be going to Ray gives his honest opinion to Lynda that Luis
won't get the best deal until the end of the season having not played for
months, and with the transfer deadline in Italy and Spain finished, he'd be
better going to France. Lynda meets with Prash, adding she now
owns 61% of the club to his 36%. She says her first instinct is to sell up
for all the heartache the club has caused her over the last two years. When
Prash offers her five million to sell, Lynda points out it’s what he
offered when she had just 15%. Prash then informs Lynda of the club's
£25M debt, with Roger adding with relegation there would be further
losses. While Lynda considers the club’s chances of surviving
relegation, Prash gets it in there that she doesn't really know too much about
running a football club anyway! Terry wishes Billy good
luck with his move, and Billy can't hide that he is not happy about leaving. Kelly has an
uncomfortable moment when Fletch shakes hands with Wes in front of her. Lynda
believes she deserves more than five million after everything Jerry put her
through. As Ray, Roger and Harry Redknapp sit waiting for Billy, Jeff goes to the
dressing room to find him, and discovers Billy has
locked himself in the toilet demanding to stay with his mates at Harchester.
Lynda goes down to talk to him, making sure for his sake the management are
not present. Lynda assures Billy she will not be like her husband and tells
him she will tell West Ham the deal is off if that's what he wants. Lynda goes to Prash for advice about Fletch's
move, needed with the money they would've got from West Ham for Billy. Lynda
makes it clear she will need the next month before she decides whether to
sell him her shares, and Prash says he will advance the money to buy Fletch
and underwrite the overdraft. Lynda is thankful and has to agree to Prash's
term that he will get first refusal when she decides to sell. Harry Redknapp
is not impressed by Jeff wasting his day. Billy is worried when Ray sternly calls him over,
but Ray tells Billy he is happy he is staying and was always in his plans
until he thought he wanted to leave. Fletch's registration comes through from
the Premier League and he is a Harchester player again. Lynda watches her
press conference unveiling of Fletch that night, and tells Luis it felt such
a buzz knowing all she achieved today. When Luis replies it is a shame it
will only be for a month, Lynda distantly agrees. Notes: The Best: Sitting at her new desk, Lynda turns over Jerry's framed photos of his
pitchside-pose with the FA Cup and a proud one of him with Karren Brady (seen
in 2.59). Fletch as his taxi pulls up outside the Lair and welcomes himself
home. Jeff left squirming as Harry Redknapp says he'll think twice before
working with him again! Jeff kicking over the office bin following this,
which poor Sandra has to pick up. ·
Quotes: Prash (to Roger on Lynda): "She can hardly be as dumb as her
mule-headed husband can she?" Foreshadowing: Upon hearing European clubs may be reluctant to sign him before
he’s returned to playing, Luis says he will contact Johnny Rizzanella
