GS: Bob Adams (Martin Beaumont) Roger Frost (Ken Hadley) Briefing his captain, Ray tells Didier if they win all
four of their remaining home games they are in with a chance of survival. Lynda is giving her
first public interview since taking over to Bob Adams on Harchester Sound. Lynda is
taken aback on how she is held responsible for the club woes left behind by
Jerry, and how there have been calls from local MP’s for the club to be
placed in administration until new owners can be found. Ann has moved into her
new offices for Patterson PR and receives
another bouquet of flowers from a persistent Scott. When Bob reminds Lynda she lacks the experience of
running a football club, Lynda responds with how so did Jerry when he first
arrived and as for showing interest she's certainly been bitten by the
football bug. Bob lets Lynda hear from a caller who asks whether her affair
with Luis is hampering his
recovery. Ray holds the team meeting, only Fletch is late, as a
custard-yellow Lamborghini roars around the Lair car park, which he eventually
pops out of. Fletch makes his second offence when he addresses Luis as boss
whilst asking how his knee is in front of Ray. Ann notices Kelly is distracted, and
she emotionally reveals all about what happened with Fletch in Luis is frustrated that Ray won't be playing him
on Saturday, and Ray rejects his suggestion of going on with an injection as
that's what got him into this position in the first place. Ray takes Fletch
to play pool in Studs, where he makes it clear he wants harmony in the
dressing room regarding him. At the store opening, Scott is surrounded by autograph-seeking
fans, and can tell Ann is avoiding contact with him. Wes approaches the
topic of he and Kelly getting their own place, but she has the Fletch
situation lingering over her and requests patience. An angry Scott arrives back at the Lair with Ann,
and snaps at her not talking to him, eventually grabbing hold of her and
yelling. Didier tries to get him to calm down but Scott turns on him until
Ray arrives and Scott goes on his way. As soon as that's over, Ray has to
contend with Luis speeding up in his motor expressing how unhappy he is with
being sidelined, when he is the best in the team. Ray reflects to Didier on
how team unity had been his mission. Notes: The Best: The first sighting of Fletch’s
“baby”, his infamous Lamborghini. Ray, almost reminiscent of when
he took the team on the bonding-bowling session in 3.10, having his own one-to-one pool session with the newly-returned
Fletch. ·
Foreshadowing: Scott showing further signs that something deeper is troubling him. Continuity: Judging by his tone and willingness to see her squirm, Bob
hasn’t forgotten about his last meeting with Lynda pre the Charlton
semi-final last season (2.64). This is also Martin Beaumont’s last appearance as Bob
Adams, still at this point DT’s longest remaining recurring character
stretching back to 1.1. When the character is next seen in 4.10, he is played by Phillip Lester. It is not known why
Lester’s character wasn’t just introduced as a new Harchester
Sound journalist, rather than making him Bob. ·
