GS: Bob Adams (Phillip Lester) Carole Lucas (Chrissie Cotterill) Councillor North (Peter Harding) Alex Lucas (Michael Brogan) Chris Lucas (Alex Roe) Ben Lucas (Barnaby Francis) Marion Lucas (Jenny Bolt) Ray arrives at the club to see a newspaper headline announcing an emergency boardroom meeting today to demand his sacking. Lynda assures him no such meeting is scheduled, and they both believe Prash is the source for the story. The team discuss Ray’s future, and when Fletch blames him for the 7-0 loss and the Bandele fiasco, Campbell reminds Karl how Ray saved him from his stalker. Lynda is shocked to learn Prash has indeed organised a board meeting after several of the directors “came to him” over concerns about the management. At the table, Prash leaves it to Councillor North to voice the blame for the club's woes on Ray, and motions that his contract be terminated immediately. Lynda puts it forward that it was also because of Ray that they weren't relegated, and the Leeds defeat is the same as a 5-0 win for Newcastle against Man United. Lynda offers a compromise that the board backs Ray for the upcoming Bradford game. Scott goes to Lizzie after learning she trained as a social worker, to see if she could help him in finding his dad. Lynda has to tell Ray that if they lose the Bradford match he is out, though she is sure he will win the game. Lizzie tries to prepare Scott that he might not get the result he wanted, and with him being famous, why hasn't his dad tried to find him yet? Scott travels to London to see his mom, and Carole repeats what Lizzie told him, that it was far easier for his dad to find him, but hasn't. Scott asks does she know where his dad might be, and Carole simply hands him the phone book showing his dad lives not too far away after all. Scott sits in his car outside his dad's house, and when he appears, Scott watches and waits, but a gaggle of young girls recognise him and squawk loudly until he has to drive away. Scott phones Lizzie and asks if she'd call his dad first as he couldn’t get out and face him. Lizzie returns with how Scott's dad was apprehensive but Scott takes off and heads to his door anyway. Two young boys open and are starstruck at the famous Scott Lucas, who has their last name, standing in front of them. Alex Lucas lets Scott in, and after correcting him that the boys are his half brothers, tells Scott he should have taken his mother's advice not to find him. Alex talks of his life since Scott, how he's settled now with a new wife and kids, and upon learning about Sam, asks Scott how he would feel if he didn't see Sam and years later he turned up wanting him to be his dad. Scott replies he would never lose touch with his son. Scott goes back to Lizzie excitedly believing he has gained his dad and two brothers, but Lizzie advices him to give his dad some space to come to terms with this. Lizzie visits Kitty, where Kitty is upset by the hate mail that has come for Ray, but adds something else is troubling her. Her father is dying in Thailand and she doesn't know how to tell Ray on top of everything that she will need to leave to see him. Ray sits in his car with Bob Adams on Harchester Sound criticising his managerial skills, and he phones up stating that he is on his way to the studio. Scott turns up at his dad's house with a bundle of presents for Chris and Ben, only it is Marion at home and she wishes Scott had spoken to Alex first. Ray takes numerous irate calls from fans, blaming him for everything that's gone wrong with the club. Ray takes a stand and announces the club will be in Europe next season otherwise he is resigning. Outside, Ray is surprised when Kitty has turned up with her bags packed and has to go to Thailand. Alex gets home to find the boys playing their new Scalextric, and aware that Scott is their brother. Alex takes Scott aside and says he should have let him handle things, adding showering the boys with presents he and Marion couldn't afford on their wages doesn't help. Scott is sorry but still asks his dad to come to the game on Saturday, though Alex makes no commitment. Ray tells Kitty this is the worst day of his life and his wife is taking his son away, but Kitty asks him to understand her father must meet William before he dies. On match day, Scott proudly introduces his dad and his family to everyone he can, and asks Lizzie to look after them. Scott scores and is glad his dad was there to witness it. In the ladies, Marion explains to Lizzie how she and Alex probably won't come to the matches again, especially as it interferes with her work as a carer in an old people's home. Lizzie says Scott was looking forward to celebrating after the game with them, but Marion thinks people like Scott and Lizzie don't live in the same world as them. Scott plays the best game of his season, dedicating his hat-trick to his dad. Marion and Alex decide they've had enough, and leave before Scott gets to see them. Scott arrives in the Players' Lounge to be told by Lizzie that his family have already left. Scott arrives at his dad's house, where Alex tells him to drive them to a place where they can have a chat. Alex tells Scott they like their lives the way they are and don't need his money to change things. Scott says he just wants his dad to love him, and Alex replies he does love him as his son, and lists how he has followed his career from Millwall to Liverpool to Harchester. Alex just feels he can't go back to being the person he was when he was with Scott's mother and says they shouldn't see each other, asking Scott to look after his grandson. Scott watches as his dad chooses to walk away for the second time in his life. Notes: Choy-Ling Man returns as Kitty in 4.16.
