Patterson PR, later known as Patterson-Palmer, featured in 11 episodes of DT in Seasons 3 and 4.
Ann Patterson had run her public-relations agency from an office in Blackburn, with her partner Michael Dillon and his Rovers' team mates her main clients. When Michael took a move to FA Cup holders Harchester United in the pre-season of 1999-00, Ann signed up more of his team mates, notably Scott Lucas, Eddie Moliano and her most valuable client to date, French international Didier Baptiste. The move to the Midlands also set Ann up with clients at West Bromwich Albion, and she travelled further afield to poach another top client, Matt Le Tissier at Southampton. But now running the business from she and Michael's room at The Grange, and then Scott's flat after they get together, put Ann on a search for new premises which she opened up towards the end of the season.
Taking on the newly-returned club hero Karl Fletcher as a client is something that excites Ann, but without knowing their history, sending assistant Kelly to Mallorca to cover him resulted in a drunken hook-up between the two. Fletch blackmails Kelly to keep sleeping with him leading to Wes breaking Fletch's jaw when he reveals the secret. The press have a field day with the events, and Ann puts the business's interests first, cutting Kelly, her friend loose, but also making sure to drop Fletch.
Through her now-over relationship with Scott, Ann became pregnant, and without Kelly, the stress of single-handedly running her business puts Ann in danger of preeclampsia, and she gives birth a month early. Keeping the business running during Ann's time away comes Victoria Baptiste, who with Prashant Dattani buys into half of the business, and the agency is renamed Patterson-Palmer. Of course, Victoria is mostly busy hobnobbing with Prash at the club, leaving Kelly with all the jobs she wouldn't want with awkward footballers and their wives! Later in the season Ann sells her remaining half to Victoria for an insultingly knock-down price.
Prash gains control of the club, but when Victoria leaks the identity of Ray as the father of Lynda's baby, causing Prash to be linked to Lynda's subsequent miscarriage, he sees Victoria as a liability and cuts her off, stating he is winding up Patterson-Palmer. Left with nothing but a potentially murderous grudge against her former lover, Victoria has a last, yet disappointing, romp with Fletch in the office.
