Wes and Campbell have made quite the partnership on the pitch, and after aiding a goal to Wes, Campbell is awarded Man of the Match. Emma has developed an attachment to Tash, but Lizzie won't allow her to have a pink mobile phone like her idol. Scott is down over Ann and Sam, and Eddie tries to cheer him up by going out with the lads like old times. Theo Paphitis sits before Lynda and Prash with a claim of owed compensation for Campbell, with he having journeyed through Millwall since the age of twelve, and for the time they spent nurturing him. Theo wants a package of £850K, warning Lynda if he goes to the FA that could rise to over a million.

Ray is called from training to Lynda's office where she gives him the situation, and how to pay Millwall they will have to sell one of the players. Lynda wants Didier, though Prash thinks it will make them look like they have something to hide. Ray also sees Didier as his best defender and believes in him, not the rumours. Ray as manager believes they should contact Birmingham, for they made a bid for Wes in the summer and Campbell will be just as good supplying crosses to Fletch. In Studs, Fletch entices Campbell with how Patterson-Palmer would be great representation, especially with Kelly there as she fancies him. As such, as soon as Kelly comes over to introduce herself, Campbell tries it on, and Kelly walks away disgusted.

Wes sits down in front of Ray who informs him they have accepted the offer from Birmingham. Wes can't believe it, and accuses Ray of never having rated him. Ray points out this way he will get guaranteed first team football while here he will always be third choice striker behind Fletch and Scott. Wes sits in the stands, and Lynda joins him, thanking him for all he's done for the club. Wes tells her he doesn't mind not being in the squad, he just wants to stay in the Premiership. She assures him he will be great at Birmingham and get back there, and is honest that the club will get a good deal for him which with their financial status they need right now.

Emma discovers Tash's magical kingdom of a bedroom, and before long has been given a Tash-inspired makeover and taken to have her nails done. Lizzie is less than impressed when Tash brings Emma home. Campbell lets on to Wes that Fletch put him up to coming onto Kelly, without him knowing she used to be with Wes. Wes is furious and has to be held back threatening Fletch with a pool cue in Studs. Instead of catching the school bus, Emma goes to the Parker's, but Jamie sends her on her way. This leads to Emma leaving the Barrons and wondering around on her own.

Wes goes to see Kelly at Patterson-Palmer, where she is shocked to hear he is leaving, and the two have their first friendly chat since they broke up. Kelly has an idea for Wes to give Fletch a special leaving present, and knows exactly what that is! Lizzie gets a phone call from Emma's school telling her she hasn't turned up, and going into her room Lizzie finds Emma has left her a note saying she doesn't want to be her daughter anymore so is going to live with Tash. Lizzie holds Tash responsible and searches her house for Emma, though she isn't there. Tash tells Lizzie what Emma said about being unhappy at home, and how she should look to herself for someone to blame.

Emma walks all the way to the club, where she wanders around unseen by anyone, while Matt searches the area around the Barrons and Lizzie phones the police. The team comes in from training where Wes asks them to gather round for a little show he has put on for his leaving party. After reminding the lads how Fletch ruined things between he and Kelly, Wes asks what is the thing Fletch loves most in the world, other than himself of course? Kelly arrives just in time to see Wes pull a cover off a blown-up portrait of Fletch crying on top of his crushed Lamborghini. The lads have a good laugh and Fletch is humiliated once more.

Campbell is angry Wes is being sold instead of Fletch, who he now sees as a slimeball, and vents to Ray who isn't impressed. Ray reminds Campbell they need Fletch's talent and he must respect that and play with him. Emma walks past Lynda's office and she spots her, taking her home to a hugely grateful Lizzie and Matt. Campbell says goodbye to Wes outside of the Lair, and believes they could have been so good together on the pitch. Wes tells his friend he will have a great future, before driving away for his new career with The Blues.

Notes:

Last appearance of Wes Kingsley (Razaaq Adoti)

Best Known For: Surprisingly only in one brief scene interviewing Wes and Campbell, Paul-Antony Barber's television credits include "Auf Wiedersehen, Pet" (1986), more than 100 episodes as Mr. Eric Sweet in "House of Anubis" (2011-13), "Striking Out" (2017-18) and "Free Rein" (2019). His film credits include "My Summer of Love" (2004), "V for Vendetta" (2005), "The Chatterley Affair" (2006), "The Golden Compass" (2007), "A Dark Reflection" (2015), "Sarah's War" (2018) and "Albert: The Power Behind Victoria" (2018)

The Best: Wes and his parting gift to Fletch, helping Kelly achieve public vindication too. Wes’s parting words to Campbell how he is Premiership quality and deserves to be here, while for him it was all a dream. Zoe being the one to inform Lynda Theo Paphitis was waiting in her office to see her, what with him being her dad.

Continuity: Wes gets onto his agent, presumably still Mark McNeill, and isn't impressed when he suggests to take the deal.

Additional Info: Theo Paphitis makes his appearance having facilitated the 1999 move of Dream Team’s on-screen stadium from Watford FC’s Vicarage Road to Millwall FC’s The Den, where he was chairman from 1997-2005. The bids the club had for players over the summer included Everton for Scott, Middlesbrough for Andy Grant and Birmingham City for Wes.

What Was The Score?: Wes scores his first goal of the season after Tore André Flo had given Chelsea a one-goal-lead. Flo gets a valiant attempt at a second goal which is saved by Jamie.

Soundtrack: Spiller: "Groovejet (If this ain't love)",  Faithless: "The Garden",  Lonyo -Comme Ci Comme Ca: "Summer of Love",  Spiritulized: "Electrisity"
