Fletch lies in a hospital bed with a fractured jaw and Ray and Lynda are told he won't be playing football for at least eight weeks. Billy tells an anguished Wes he should stay at The Grange while he goes to confront Kelly. Billy returns to the flat and informs Kelly of what Wes did after Fletch broadcast their secret, and tells Kelly Wes was going to buy her an engagement ring tomorrow but look what she's done to him. Kelly goes to Wes in his room, where she has to admit she'd slept with Fletch a second time after he threatened to reveal Mallorca to Wes. Wes yells that Kelly's actions have made him responsible for the team getting relegated, as Fletch is out of the game.

 

Ray gets a nice surprise when Kitty and William arrive at his door. Fletch asks Eddie to move his baby (Lamborghini) from the club car park to The Grange. Luis tells Lynda he knows if she doesn't want to come to Argentina with him now she probably never will. Paul Hankin turns up at Patterson PR wanting Kelly's side of the story, and Ann thinks it will be a good opportunity for her. Billy goes to Wes at The Grange and tells him the team are behind him and he wants him to come home to the flat.

 

Predictably, Kelly's interview with Hankin does not go well, and his request of her going into detail on what sleeping with Fletch was like is met with her calling him a pervert and running out. Didier is rattled Victoria was with a man when she says she stayed in Manchester with a friend, and she reminds him of her price to go. Luis visits Ray and refers to their clash on the coach, with Luis saying their friendship is too important for there to be these problems. Ray agrees and hugs Luis.

 

Kelly goes to collect her things from the flat, and finds Wes has already packed her possessions for her. Didier has a discreet meeting with Prash by some derelict buildings, where he tells him he is his best chance on the pitch for the team being relegated. Prash agrees to pay Didier one-hundred-thousand before the game and the rest after.

 

Notes:

 

The Best: Eddie stuffing Fletch's grapes by his bedside. Kelly turning up at Fletch’s hospital room and yelling how he's ruined her life, before swinging at him and slapping Eddie! Kelly is then removed by security. Roger telling Lynda he admires her strength in taking on the club and letting Luis go.

 

·          Continuity: Ray, exasperated from Fletch being put out of the final game, refers to already having had to put up with Gordon Gallagher, Meningitis, and a player going into therapy. Luis remarks how this time last year he and Lynda were planning to go to Argentina in secret (2.76), and now he's off with all the publicity. They talk about the events of the last year: Jerry, the shooting at Wembley, Luis injuring himself (3.26), Maxine telling everyone Lynda was crazy, and Marilyn. Lynda talks to Roger how it doesn't seem five minutes since Luis arrived at Harchester, and how she had her picture taken with him at the press conference (2.11).

 

Additional Info: This is the last half-hour episode of Dream Team, after a total of 198 editions. Luis has passed his medical with Boca Juniors and Roger says all there is left is for him to sign his registration form.
