A defeated Lynda watches the latest news on Harchester from Sky Sports, as Prash is shown receiving a hero's welcome. Faulkner assures the worried team that the club is not bankrupt but in the hands of the receivers, and the new owner will pay for the North Stand's repair. Jamie refuses to leave The Grange and misses training, knowing he will want to bet the moment he is out. Lynda is forced by Prash to attend a creditors meeting at the club. Kitty has no sympathy for Lynda, and says she should have sold the club and gone to Argentina when she had the chance, while she and Ray will be leaving at the end of the season.

A desperate Tash goes to Kitty and pleads with her for help over the mess Jamie is in, and Kitty says Ray will know what to do having had players with the same problems in the past. Fletch tries to take control in training, and Ray doesn't take kindly to his insistence that Danny play on the left to support him rather than in the middle. Lizzie helps Lynda from being pursued by journalists and drives her to the meeting, where Hankin notices she is pregnant. Prash orchestrates a moment alone with Lynda where he presents her with the photographs of she and Ray. Prash warns her to drop any last minute plan she has to stop his takeover, and threatens to hand them to the press if she doesn't.

Faulkner advises Lynda that Prash's offer is very good, and if she doesn't accept he will be putting the club into liquidation where it would lose it's Premiership status and be unable to function. Lynda signs all of her shares over to Prash, making him the majority shareholder and new chairman. An appalled Lizzie tells Ray that Prash has left Lynda with nothing. Ray confronts Prash in his new office and lets him know he won't work for him, but knows the lads need him for these last two games. Hankin sneaks into Lynda's room past Matt and Lizzie, and yells questions at Lynda on whether Ray is the father of her baby. Matt forces Hankin out the door as he yells he's running the story, and Lynda is distraught crying to leave her baby alone.

Ray gives Jamie and Tash the number of a professional who can help him with his gambling addiction, and Tash attends a partners-of-gamblers support group. Matt reaches Ray to warn him Hankin is looking for he and Kitty over Lynda's baby. Ray gets to Hankin just as he is at Kitty's door, and there is nearly a repeat of Ray throttling Hankin as with Gordon Gallagher's story on Kitty. Workmen get underway fixing the North Stand, with the task continuing throughout the night. Prash stands before the team, and announces how their living arrangements can stretch to finding new homes away from The Barrons. The team cheers Prash, but Ray doesn't buy his club saviour act one bit.

The next day Harchester prepare to kick off against Villa. Kitty refuses to come to the game as she believes Lynda is there with Ray, but he assures her it isn't the case. Siobhan and Lizzie both notice Lynda is not at the game. Lynda is in bed watching the game, and has been feeling uncomfortable. Soon she is overcome by pain and fears she is losing the baby. Lynda manages to phone Lizzie and she and Siobhan reach her as the paramedics arrive. At the end of the game, Ray leaves to get to Lynda just as Kitty announces all she wants is to be with him. Ray gets to the hospital as Lizzie and Siobhan are comforting Lynda, who has been told the baby has died. Ray holds Lynda as she cries.

Notes:

The Best: Lizzie. Normally Team Kitty having been in her shoes as the cheated on wife, plus on Lynda’s case over The Barrons’ methane gas, comes through for her here in her disgust at Prash and her care for Lynda during her miscarriage. Also rightfully giving Hankin a slap when he yells whether Lynda has tried to kill herself. Some would wish it was her harder, Glasgow Kiss she’d used on him! Lynda talking to her baby, saying it will be OK because they have each other and she loves them, only to lose the child. Alison King plays it so beautifully.

Continuity: Victoria telling Prash she can't wait to have her turn of the Harchester favourite boardroom table romp! Lynda’s two sisters are mentioned when she could do with family at the hospital, but she won’t allow them to be called. Understandable in Maxine’s case!

What Was The Score?: Goals from Bandele and Fletcher see Harchester win against Middlesbrough midweek at The Riverside Stadium, remarkably the only away game we see Harchester play this season. Villa at The Lair: A pass from Dion Dublin to Steve Stone sees Villa score first. Fletch misses a couple of chances, while a corner kick from Danny evades Matt, and Harchester lose the game 1-0, with Liverpool winning their game against Spurs meaning Harchester drop to 4th with only one game to secure their Champions League place.

Soundtrack: David Gray: “This Year’s Love”
