Alan presents Dawn with an Italian phrase book as they look forward to their move to Milan. David gets on the phone to Hankin with an exclusive on Rothman, and doesn't want paying because this is personal. Hankin isn't impressed with Spears's story on Alan breaching his contract, but is far more interested when he hears Rothman has his hand in the till whenever he sells a player. Jeff has a meeting with Lynda, introducing Tash into the business. David gets Alan onto the idea of them taking Stevie with them to Milan, with Alan remembering he has a buy-out clause in his contract.

Lynda takes Claudia to task when she bitches about Tash "the goalkeeper's wife" getting in on a business meeting. A woman turns up looking for Stevie, and she is his fiancée Yasmin who he is trying to keep under wraps. Jamie raises the topic with Tash of them having a baby, and Tash wants to get herself sorted in her new business venture first, believing they have plenty of time with her being twenty-two and he twenty-four. Jamie reminds her he is turning twenty-five on Friday. Alan brings Stevie in on the move to Milan, and Stevie isn't sure because he's only just come to Harchester, and worries about what the lads and Mrs Block will think.

David knows Alan has been with Dawn again today when she lets slip she knows about Stevie coming to Milan. Lynda gets wind of Milan's bid for Stevie, and is surprised he wants to sell, until he mentions the £15M buy-out clause which could buy two new players. Lynda brings Stevie to her office, where she explains to him why she doesn't want him to go and proposes a counter offer. Hankin introduces David to Mark the Chronicle's night sports editor, who will be posing as Milan's commercial director Mr Casale and recording Alan with how much he’ll make when taking Stevie to Milan.

As Lynda makes her pledge to Stevie and his agent as to why he should stay as Harchester's captain, Rothman is plotting his departure with “Mr Casale”. They get onto the subject of Stevie's signing on fee, with Alan foreseeing that Stevie will get 50%, with his agent wanting 25%, leaving the same amount for Alan's pension fund without tax of course. “Casale” gets more than he is bargaining for when Rothman lays the problems of Harchester United on Lynda Block, who should do what she does best - look pretty and stay quiet!

After getting drunk on Andrei's strong native liquor, Jamie thinks he's found the solution to Tash having her career and a baby, when Andrei talks of how they can buy a Romanian baby from it's mother for between £8-10K. David stuns Dawn with how they won't be going with Alan to Milan. Dawn goes straight to Alan, committing herself to going with him and leaving David. Alan clearly does not want to get serious with Dawn, and makes it clear if David doesn't come then neither does she.

A transcript of Rothman's recording comes through on the office fax, just as David appears to let Lynda know of Alan's intentions to head to Milan himself. The penny begins to drop for Alan as journos ring him up with the story, and he phones Milan to be told the real Mr Casale is not the one he had dinner with last night. Lynda knows she is going to have to let Alan go, three days before the Mallorca home-leg, the club’s biggest match in their history. David assures Lynda he would do all he could to make Stevie stay, if he himself can stick around.

Tash organises Jamie's 25th birthday party in Studs, where Andrei presents them with a gift in front of the whole team - a baby! Tash is mortified. Alan confronts Lynda, who informs him he wasn’t set up, he caused it all with his own actions. Alan comes face to face with David, and immediately knows it was he behind all this. David gives Alan his reason - handing him the Italian phrase book with how Dawn won't be needing this. Alan drops the book and carries on walking.
