they emerged from the siege, the team are gathered by the police and told to
stay quiet on the bet, for they need Doyle to lead them
to the main players. Phil reminds the team
that the FA learning match fixing went on could scupper their chances of a
replay, which would mean relegation. Phil addresses a press conference
announcing Abi and Alan are both out
of danger. Tash makes it clear to Jeff that she holds
Phil responsible for Jamie’s death, as his previous allegations of Doyle's
bet could have stopped this from happening. The police pressure Jacqui into recording
Doyle. Abi is told she suffered substantial muscle
and tissue damage, which could affect her ability to have children. Wanting him to
get his real comeuppance when the team stay up, Phil
gives Patrick the heads up that Jacqui will be wearing a wire to have him
arrested on the spot. Depressed about missing the FA Cup final, Ryan gets talking
to Steve, who offers to get him some serious money by selling the comps he
won't need. Tash now blames Fletch for not
revealing the bet, and hitting him with Jamie's holdall,
stacks of notes of Doyle's money fall out. They find the photos of Tash and Hope in The detectives
are surprised by Fletch's arrival at Patrick's
room, where Doyle reveals he is under the bet makers’ control too, and
they'll have him killed. Fletch tries to strangle Patrick, which the police
choose as their moment to enter and arrest Patrick for conspiracy to defraud.
The team fear Fletch's actions will alert the FA to
the bet, which is exactly what happens. The FA know a former manager and
goalkeeper were involved in match fixing and state Harchester
cannot go to Cardiff with this unresolved, making their decision in the next
48 hours. It gets worse for Phil when Tash presents
him with a writ saying she will be suing the club. Tash returns home to find Jeff and Linzie have set up a first birthday party for Hope, and
yells at everyone to get out. The team decide to
launch a campaign involving the fans and media to be allowed to play their
next two matches. As they are due to leave for Cardiff, Tash
gives an interview where she talks of knowing how much the team cared about
Jamie and it's only right they should be allowed to play the final league
match. A newly discharged Rothman turns up to wish his team luck, and having
met with the FA, Phil gets there just in time to tell the coach it is bad
news… Notes: The Best: Fletch takes Hope's birthday card, being he and Abi’s God-daughter to Tash,
where the two cry as they share their guilt and grief over Jamie. Additional
