Gav and Cind suffer Sean's comic timing Liam busted Liam's fall from grace (and the team all know!) Dioup, Sean |
GS: Tony Franks (Neal Barry) Police Officer Mills (Keith Faulkner) Suzie (Lucy Falconer) After being left unimpressed with Sean's brazenness, Liam tells Jimmy he can't play with Sean, and Jimmy tells him he will have to be the bigger player - as with he and Sean in the middle and Gavin and Miguel up front, they are strong enough to face the two teams above them in the table. Taking a test, Cindi is relieved to learn she is not pregnant, though Gavin seems disappointed when Cindi states she is in no hurry to have a baby. Jimmy tells Liam how he was due to attend a charity function tonight, but would rather be at home with Gemma. Liam volunteers to take Jimmy's place, and the manager is grateful. As Tony discusses a new boot deal he has set up for Gavin, Cindi intervenes with how other “footie-couples” know what they're onto, and asks Tony whether this deal could see them covered in “OK!”? Cindi and Gavin are also attending the charity function, and Gavin is horrified at what Cindi has chosen for them both to wear - matching black and white 70's style outfits. The smile is soon wiped off Liam's face when Sean turns up, there to co-present a cheque with Jimmy, now Liam. When Gavin tells Cindi he wants his kids to be able to see him playing whilst he's still at the top, Cindi is annoyed, and accuses Gavin of wanting her to give up her career. Another brawl has started between Liam and Sean when Sean puts his hand on Amy's backside. Liam and Sean go flying off the stage onto a spread set out, getting covered with food and drink. A sprayed Cindi then gets her photo-op, covered in wine and cream. The next day the press seem to have had more fun with Cindi than Liam and Sean, and the two are fined a week's wages by Jimmy. Feeling embarrassed, Cindi tells Gavin maybe they should have a baby, as long as they don't give up on the brand. To prove her word, Cindi throws her new contraceptive pills away in front of Gavin, but no sooner has he gone than she is taking them again. After picking up a twinge in training, Gavin returns home to rest his leg on ice, and searching the freezer discovers the pills Cindi supposedly binned. In order to get them to "gel", Sean takes Liam to Studs, where the captain is adamant he will only be having one drink. Two girls present Liam and Sean with champagne, and although Liam doesn't want to drink, Sean accepts and invites the girls over. When Liam gets a moment alone with the girls, he informs them that Sean is just using him in an attempt to get either (or both) of the girls into bed! When Sean returns he is slapped by one and called a pig by the other. Sean gets Liam wasted, and after finding two other girls to pick up, they leave Studs to see Liam being pinned up against the wall by the police. Sean learns Liam was caught urinating in the street, and in order to save him from being taken to the station, bribes the officers with free Harchester tickets, and access to the Players' Lounge. Cindi is shocked to see Gavin has used the ice, as he pretends he has no idea about the pills. Liam awakes with a severe hangover the next morning, and is anguished when Suzie walks out from the bathroom and asks Liam if he's coming back to bed. Liam arrives at training to find Sean has already filled the boys in on last night, and struggles on the pitch, in contrast to Sean flourishing. Jimmy offers Sean a starting place in the team for tomorrow. After throwing up in the toilets, Liam accuses Sean of getting him drunk deliberately in order to make himself look good to Jimmy. Sean doesn't deny it, but pushes the red button when he tells Liam he is a liar if he says he didn't have a good time last night.
