Amy is excited about Danny’s visit home, when she hears from her Press Officer boss, who leaves her in charge of business as he has a dislocating injury. The first thing on Amy has to contend with is a story in the Chronicle linking Gemma's coma to Harchester losing to Norwich. Needless to say Jimmy is furious, and demands Amy find whoever is responsible. Amy speaks with Tom Magee from the Chronicle, who puts it across that he's annoyed Jimmy never has any time for the paper, who have always been loyal in what they print about the club. Tom wants Jimmy to give a personal interview to the paper, and when Amy puts the suggestion to Jimmy, he doesn't want this, but knows otherwise they will print anything. Miguel and Sean go head to head in a game of Texas Hold ‘Em, until the stakes have reached twenty grand. At this point Gavin comes to tell Miguel his Ferrari is being loaded onto a tow truck. Sean reminds Miguel if he moves away from the table it is an automatic fold. Miguel can't wait, and chases after the driver, who tells Miguel it is stolen property. The truck leaves, and Miguel is broken, but Sean finds it hilarious however, and soon he is calling the driver, asking him to bring it back.

When Tom drops a hint of Gemma into his interview with Jimmy, the Gaffer abandons the discussion, and physically throws Tom out when he states Gemma is brain-damaged. Jimmy takes it out on Amy, in front of Terry, and yells that as far as he's concerned, Harchester's relationship with the press is over permanently. The press follow Amy to the training ground, and she is forced to publicly ban Tom from the club. The day gets worse for Amy when Terry introduces Alec Vaughn, who is head of communications at one of his call centres. He tells Amy Alec will be taking over from her until her boss gets back, whilst she will now join the club photographer who is on a job for the community project. To add insult to injury, Harrison asks Amy to put the kettle on before she leaves! Amy gets a shock when she finds Alec going through her office, and complains to Terry, who is on Alec's side. Amy has had enough when Terry plans to have her share with one of the secretaries so Alec can have her office, and tells him she quits. Miguel notices a beautiful woman standing at the sidelines, and soon he and Sean are competing over Leanne. Sean learns she is there to watch her younger brother Jamie, who has been paired up with Miguel. After Miguel learns that Gavin is Jamie's favourite player, Miguel scores Jamie a personal training session with Gavin, to impress Leanne.

Sully arrives home and Amy tells him today was her last day at the club and she's moving to Southend with him. Later, Amy is called by a desperate-sounding Harrison, saying he needs her help. She goes to the Grange, where she's met behind the door by a naked Harrison who has been locked in the bathroom by a woman he met at the bar, who has taken pictures and is threatening to go to the press unless he pays her ten thousand pounds. Amy is forced to help out Harrison. A man bangs on Miguel's door, and Leanne recognizes him as her dad, telling Miguel her father hates her being with any man! When Leanne states he put her ex-boyfriend in hospital, Miguel suggests she hide in the cupboard. Amy encounters Tom, who says he's here to meet Harrison’s woman in question, but adds there's more Amy should be worried about. Rachel Craig’s affair is set to be exposed in the paper tomorrow morning. Amy goes to the Craig’s and is told that the story is true. Jimmy and Rachel decide they need to tell Gemma the full truth, and Gemma tells Rachel she has to decide - it’s either she and Jimmy or she’s on her own to be with David. Rachel makes her decision and says she'll pack her things.

Sean manages to calm the situation with Miguel and Leanne's dad, John, and comes up with a story that Miguel is gay which he has to go along with to get John off his back. As Sean shows John out, Leanne comes out of the closet (literally), at the moment John comes back in looking for an autograph. John is furious, and pins Miguel to the sofa. Sean however, steps in to inform Miguel that John and Leanne are in fact Dave and Becky, actors from the Rent-a-Laugh agency. Miguel isn't pleased with being had by Sean once again - and warns his gleeful team mate that this isn't over. Amy returns to Harrison, where she tells him she's found the girl, Lyndsey, but it's going to cost him five grand. Amy points out to Tom that Lyndsey is old news, having had Fletch, Curtis and Ryan, the nationals aren't going to pick up the story regarding Harrison. Lyndsey is forced to hand her phone to Amy and she deletes the pics. Amy also forces Tom to drop his other story on the Craig's marriage - in favour of him getting the real news from Jimmy's own mouth. Rachel and Jimmy have a moment where she asks him to look after Gemma, and himself, before leaving. Amy tells Danny tonight she turned a new corner with both Jimmy and Terry, and says she won't be coming to Southend. Sully respects that, and they both know they will be back living together one day. The next day, Amy has her office back, and reminds Terry she won't be called "Love" or "Darling", and wangles a payrise out of her boss!

Notes:

Last appearance of Rachel Craig (Annabel Reid)

The Best: Amy assisting Steve at the conference, as Jimmy is refusing to converse with the press. Miguel and Sean once again out to outsmart each other, betting a grand on who could last longer in keepy-uppys (Sean). Miguel having to dodge John’s question on whether there's anyone in the Premiership he fancies.

Best Known For: Andrew (Andy) McNair played regular Dan Hunter in “Hollyoaks” from 2001-2004 and was Thomas Seymour during the third and fourth seasons of the acclaimed series “The Tudors” (2009-10)

Al Hunter Ashton is seen here in one of his last screen roles, as he died just two months after this episode aired on April 27th 2007. With a more than 70-credit acting career, which included regular roles in "Crossroads" (Ray Grice 1987-88) and "London's Burning" (Pitbull 1995-2001), he also wrote across "EastEnders" for many of its years up to 2006, plus "The Bill", "Holby City" and "Doctors" amongst others.

Kacey Barnfield began her acting career in more than 80 episodes of “Grange Hill”, playing Maddie Gilks over five series between 2001-2005. She has starred in the films “Resident Evil: Afterlife” and "Lake Placid 3” (both 2010), “Girl on a Bicycle” (2013) and “Seeking Dolly Parton” (2015)

Continuity: Some great continuity which we are treated to almost every week towards the end of DT. We get mentions of Lynda from Terry and Amy, and from Tom there's Alex and Pavel Kovac, in the latter's case it's the final mention of the absent striker. Also Amy listing Lyndsey’s previous HUFC conquests in Fletch, Curtis and Ryan, despite she never meeting the former two.

Additional Info: It appears Tom Magee has fitted into the role previously occupied by Paul Hankin, (who doesn’t feature in this season) in this sole appearance.

Soundtrack: Elvis vs JXL: "A Little Less Conversation",  Natalie Imbruglia: "Just Another Day",  Paolo Nutini: "Last Request",  Sugababes: "Easy" and "Stronger"
