Ryan Craig wrote 3 episodes of DT in Season 6.

 

Ryan's career as a playwright began before his scriptwriting for television and radio. His first play "The Sins of Dalia Baumgarten" debuted in 1996, and the next near 30 years has seen him write or adapt another 17 stage shows. These have included:

 

"Happy Savages" (1998)

"Vintage Stuff", a UK tour adaptation of a novel by Tom Sharpe (2000)

"Portugal", a National Theatre Translation of a Hungarian play as part of the 'Channels' season and also performed for BBC Radio 3 in 2004.

"What We Did To Weinstein", which saw Ryan nominated for the Charles Wintour Award for Most Promising Playwright at the 2005 Evening Standard Awards.

"Broken Road", also 2005 and an Edinburgh Fringe Winner of a Fringe First award.

"The Glass Room" (2006)

The English version of Tadeusz Słobodzianek's "Our Class" (2009), which followed with an American run at The Wilma Theater (2011) and Theater J in Washington DC where it was nominated for the Outstanding Resident Play at the 2012 Helen Hayes Awards

"The Holy Rosenbergs" (2011)

His semi-autobiographical "Filthy Business" (2017) which followed with a New Zealand run in 2018.

Theatre Royal Bath UK Tours of "Charlotte and Theodore" (2023), "George Orwell's 1984" (2024) and "Emma" (2025)

 

Ryan's TV writing credits include "Family Affairs" (3 episodes, 1999), "Night and Day" (6 eps, 2001), "Hollyoaks" (5 eps, 2003), a script producer on "Mile High" and writing 1 episode (2003), the TV movie "Saddam's Tribe" (2007), "Robin Hood" (2 eps, 2008), "Waterloo Road" (2 eps, 2011), "Hustle2 (1 ep, 2012) and "The Musketeers" (1 ep, 2015).

 

Ryan's plays for radio, where he was also Writer in Residence at BBC Radio Drama in 2005, include "Looking For Danny" (2003), "Hold My Breath" and "The Great Pursuit", a four-part radio adaptation of Tom Sharpe's novel for BBC Radio 4 (both 2005), "The Lysistrata Project" (2006), "English in Afghanistan" (2010), "A Question of Judgement" (2017) and "First of Millions" (2023).
